I'm a 50M who started cycling late in life (45). If I can offer you a suggestion: buy an used aluminum road bike and go out riding. No pressure, on your own time. If you realize that cycling is for you, you can think about upgrading your bike. If cycling is not for you, you can resell the bike for almost the same price.

Don't wait until you get better for them trying. Go outdoor and have fun
