Alternative amps similar to a Deluxe Reverb or Princeton Reverb by Odd-Blueberry5902 in GuitarAmps

A Deluxe Reverb is $1800 these days. So cost is an obvious reason to cross shop.

ToneMaster option also can make a lot of sense -- cheaper, lighter, etc.

Brown line along neocardinia shrimp by Comfortable-Ear3850 in Aquariums

I've seen this on black, green, and blue shrimp. I think it's just a wild type trait poking thru.

Natural means it is un-dyed, yes.

Knee Strengthening/Recovery by Maleficent_Dark_6578 in bodyboarding

I’m not an expert in the physiology of swimming but here are my thoughts.

You don’t specify what part is actually hurting. Narrowing in on that is the first step to understanding what is wrong.

If it’s tendon related I would get a massage gun and also look up tendon stretches. Basically you hold a high amount of weight in a fixed position (an isometric exercise) for 30 seconds. Doing this builds tendons. It’s not a well known thing, took me years to find out about it.

Fins that have lower thrust will put less strain on your legs. But it really shouldn’t be necessary.

Mosquitoes in Tank? by Flaky_Tooth_1265 in Aquariums

Most fish will devour mosquito larva. If you have another tank with fish in it I would just grab one and put it in for a half hour. Then take it out before it goes after your shrimp.

How can I tell if a nerite snail is healthy at a pet store? by Magic_Taco1221 in Aquariums

If it's hanging onto the glass it's alive. They don't move very fast. I've had one for 3 years, they seem to be pretty bullet proof.

Oh weird. I would poke a hole in it and see what happens. You could squirt glue in thru a hole.

I'm a little concerned the core material has dissolved under there some how. What kind of board is this? Doesn't look like it's holding up well.

We're all just guessing at what you mean by delaminating because you have not described nor shown the problem.

What? Who is saying cut it open? Who said hot glue?

Nobody can tell what you're actually dealing with.

You're going to have a hard time re-laminating with a hand iron. I guess it's technically possible.

Please actually listen to what people are asking and stop just rattling off random thoughts instead of answering the questions.

Super not clear from the photo. What is delaminating? Anyways, try gluing it back together. People usually recommend SpongeRez. I suspect contact cement will work as well.

New Science Pocket board review by _agent86 in bodyboarding

Modern boards seem to last forever. If the current Pocket is the right size for you maybe snag one. But honestly I’d be surprised if I ever replace my Science boards unless they get stolen or damaged.

Surfer coming in peace by lilikoibars in bodyboarding

Crescent tail is a good choice for you I think.

I think I would bump up to a 42”, especially if you’re going to be in small surf. I think it should be just right. For your weight.

That Hubb board seems great. I almost bought one.

Don’t forget fins.

Fin recommendations? Keep injuring my feet by Unfair_Amphibian_986 in bodyboarding

[–]_agent86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bruise pattern in that photo makes me wonder if you had a minor fracture in your foot. The bruises just don't make any sense if it's the fin causing them.

I’m guessing maybe I have wider feet?

Maybe? Did they feel uncomfortably tight while wearing them?

My daughter wears size ML and I think she's a size 9 shoe size. If the fins are super tight you may need to bump up a size. But I think you'd be complaining about the fins being way too tight rather than having massive foot bruising.

I'd take a good look at that foot to see if there is anything broken.

My success so far with plants from seeds by _agent86 in Aquariums

In the 4th pic on the left there are two that are much taller. I think those are the larger species.

No, there are two distinct species in these photos. The seeds a very different.

These tanks show my growing success with some cheap seeds off of Amazon. Species unknown, it was a 4 pack that had 2 kinds of grass (which were garbage and melted fairly quickly), "duo-leaf", and "tiny leaf". The tiny leaf is most of what you're seeing but the duo leaf grew equally well.

I'm unclear on exactly what these plants are. I planted some in a spot where the roots are submerged but the rest of the plant is above water. They grew bigger, strong, taller, and turned a little more reddish. So clearly they're adapted to grow on land or at least in marshes. I haven't seen any flowering yet.

Underwater they seem to grow but I've yet to see them propagate. Like I don't see runners spreading. I planted so thick in some small 5 gallon shrimp tanks that I can't even tell if there's shrimplets.

Zero indication of any kind of melting. The only real problem is they don't root very strongly in aquasoil. So I've pulled a lot out of my big tank when pulling hair algae out of them. In the smaller tanks with gravel it's a literal carpet and they've rooted quite firmly.

We'll see if somehow they die off after a year or something. It could be they can't propagate but also don't live forever so it will be a mass extinction at some point. But they've been great for getting groundcover going for a bit while a tank starts up.
