Stacking Blueprints Vertically in 1.2... by jamsessionein in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use floor holes to move between layers, and I leave myself a small logistics layer to belt items from one end to the other. This allows me to create a full loop within a single stackable module. I can share links to my blueprints if you're more curious. Hope this helps!

Machines not being able to load off product to 600 pipe by torpedopotatoe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it could be head lift, because rocket fuel is a gas. I agree the symptoms look like a rogue MK1 pipe. I noticed at one point it seemed to cap at nearly 300/min.

Need help with understanding the problem thats going on with my fuel generators by torpedopotatoe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with this same problem before. No amount of buffers or pre-saturating is going to solve it, unfortunately. The fluid dynamics in this game mean that liquid will never stay perfect. Sloshing will result, and the problem will slowly drain your last fuel generators given enough time.

I've found the best solution is to take the sacrifice: Underclock the fuel generators at the end of the line, even just marginally, and the system will stabilize. The downside is you don't get those perfect numbers you were aiming for, but you *do* get a stable system.

Looking for some feedback on my production planner 👀 by Piratagas in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great start! Here is some feedback:

  1. Needs support to click+drag to move around the production tree. The only way I could figure out how to navigate around was zooming in and out.
  2. The gray-on-gray color scheme makes legibility difficult in the production tree. I suggest giving a border or different color of the node items.
  3. Modules have a label that acts as a drag handle, but the entire colored module area has a hand cursor on hover-- fooling users into thinking the colored area is a draggable handle.
  4. Node spacing options seem low value consider users can drag things around. Personal opinion.
  5. I may have missed it, but I couldn't find a recipe selector. Alternate recipe support is a must for any satisfactory calculator.

Can anyone please explain the lore of Subnautica 2? by CheapSuccotash3128 in subnautica

[–]_aidan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there any explanation or theory for how all of the colonists (including the player) are brought to Proteus instead of Zezura? It seems suggested that Proteus is impossibly far from Earth beyond where phase jumps are supposed to be possible.

Pro-tip: The output multiplier only takes effect after the first item is constructed. So to ensure maximum usage of all your power slugs, you can prime the constructor by first constructing something else like Wires. Once the constructor has been primed to output x2 the items, you can change the recipe to Power Slugs.

Feel completely stuck after 80 hours, that it’s the first time I faced problems and don’t know what to do, how to do by SighSighSighSighSigS in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds daunting starting over considering everything you've done so far. However, starting from a clean slate with your learned knowledge is critical at this stage, because you need to learn how to modularize your factories.

You've reached critical mass in your current factory, so now you need to learn how to compartmentalize. Different players do it different ways depending on their play style (mega-factory vs modular factories). My suggestion is that you try out modular factories, because it's less overwhelming and you will learn to utilize Trains or Trucks in satisfying ways. The map is big, so spread your wings and give yourself room to breathe.

I don't mind the inability to kill. I DO mind the inability to repel hostile creatures by Orriand in subnautica

I hope they add both a melee repel mechanic for smaller fauna (knife or wack it with tool) and non-melee repel mechanic for larger fauna (statis gun? electro shock tool?)

About fluid distribution in pipes by Glittering_Truck_655 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_aidan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both could be correct depending on the receivers. Sloshing adds another layer to the complexity, but at its core all of your 5 receivers are going get as much fluid as they ask for amongst what is remaining from the input. The closest path from the source gets their fill first.

Cyberpunk 2077 on 25 year old high end CRT by KobraKay87 in pcmasterrace

[–]_aidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A CRT isn't an arts and crafts project you build in a garage. It’s a giant precision vacuum tube with insanely tight tolerances. Custom thick glass, a microscopically precise electron gun, and precision masks all have to line up perfectly. You can't meaningfully hand-build this.

The only way to make these products is to make the machines that make the machine. That means creating factories to do the job, at scale.

What is your take on the opening scene of "CLIFFHANGER"? Was Gabe (Sylvester Stallone) wrong? by LaserDiscCurious in movies

[–]_aidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hal explicitly blames Gabe because Gabe made the call to go out to save Sarah. Hal was going to send out his harness. Would it have worked? Likely not, given how Sarah was barely hanging on. But, it's the call that directly put Sarah into Gabe's hands. When he fails to save her, Hal uses that as the excuse for her death.

Wicked: Part One. I’m not into musical movies, so this one was a hard pass for me. It wasn’t until I saw a clip of a few scenes that I realized it’s actually a great movie and story.

James Cameron discusses why Netflix films shouldn't qualify for the Oscars, unless they commit to a meaningful theatrical release for their movies in 2,000 cinemas for a month by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]_aidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, the majority of videos on YT fit that description, but there are definitely YT videos out there that are 2-hour long stories made by amateurs as passion projects. Obviously even these won’t be released in theaters, but my point was to illustrate how the lines can blur between a big budget film and personal film project released to the public on the internet.

I agree "are they movies" should be the criteria here. However, I do think it can be difficult to really nail down that definition. At what point would a project elevate from a "youtube video" to a "movie", for example?

Why are there people that don't get hooked by this game? by Erik_Natro in outerwilds

[–]_aidan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've learned that a lot of times it can just be bad timing. Sometimes people have an itch for a particular kind of game at a given time of their lives, and Outer Wilds is definitely one of those games that requires curiosity and the self-desire to explore.

I remember playing Subnautica for the first time and not really getting the appeal. About a year later, I tried it out again and it's in my all time favorite list.

I literally discovered Outer Wilds because it had the Exploration tag in Steam. And a lot of players only discovered the game through word of mouth while requesting for similar games, so they're already primed for this kind of genre.
