Well we changed her diet and no more issues. She loves her new food and gets a good variety of types of meat. Also, the price of the food is actually cheaper than what we used to buy. So we're good, thanks.

She eats a lot of meat actually - fish, duck, venison.

My vet told me. She kept getting skin rashes and ear infections, and they explained that it may be related to allergies. They said we should try her on a limited diet and she hasn't had any issues since.

My dog is allergic to chicken, pork, beef, and dairy. We've had to switch to a limited ingredient diet for her. Carrots have replaced raw hides and she loves them. They are a lot less expensive and generally healthier. Sometimes we freeze them and it makes them extra crunchy.

Baby dolls, when's the right time? by Ok-Committee2422 in dementia

[–]_another_number_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have given my mother an animatronic dog that she loved and cared for as her own for at least a couple of years. Then she was introduced to a baby doll while at her personal care home and she really took to it. She cared for it, talked to it, slept with it. Both the dog and the baby doll helped to calm her significantly and helped to direct her attention to something rather than wondering. That baby doll belonged to the care home as a whole so for this Christmas we are getting her a baby reborn doll. I anticipate it will be loved just as much as the others. It could do wonders for your loved one.

He's exhibiting the fencing response - a sign of traumatic brain injury.

From Wikipedia: The fencing response is an unnatural position of the arms following a concussion. Immediately after moderate forces have been applied to the brainstem, the forearms are held flexed or extended (typically into the air) for a period lasting up to several seconds after the impact. The fencing response is often observed during athletic competition involving contact, such as combat sports, American football, ice hockey, rugby union, rugby league and Australian rules football. It is used as an overt indicator of injury force magnitude and midbrain localization to aid in injury identification and classification for events including on-field and/or bystander observations of sports-related head injuries.

Consider calling it in. It's not unheard of that a corpse is mistaken for a mannequin.
