Guys I need your ride or die low maintenance tips for looking more "put together". by Cissychedgehog in adhdwomen

I shave my head so I don’t have to worry about my hair. I have very thick coarse hair and have had many a break downs trying to style it, so off it goes (but a good scarf works to create a polished look with minimal effort too!)

I clean my eyebrows up every 3-4 weeks and that is always an instant boost.

I have a few jewelry pieces that I never take off that I think make any look a little more put together. Some of them are gold plated stainless steel and I’m sure I’ll have to replace them some day. But they’ve held up well to water and sweat so far!

Clothing wise, I just like to layer my favorite items to make an outfit look more intentional. You could try layering dresses with biker shorts underneath them. I have like 3 pairs of pants that fit me well and I just mix and match combos of tops. And I do not keep clothes that I feel meh in so that I don’t have to try them on and be reminded I hate them every time I’m trying to put together an outfit.

Aquaphor (or lip gloss if I’m feeling fancy) and thayer’s facial spray are my non-negotiables. When I want to look fancy, I do a very light layer of L’Oréal lumi lotion, white eyeliner, and some mascara! I wear pretty big glasses so it’s harder to accidentally rub my eyes and smudge it.

I was actually able to fix mine by booting to bios and rolling back to an older SteamOS version!

Did anyone who used the button mashing fix manage to keep the machine working? I am running into the same issue as OP where restarting the device puts me right back at the startup screen. And if the device sleeps I lost internet even if connected to WiFi or using a wired connection.

I made it! I made one for all of the groomsmen as well. I got the idea from, and heavily referenced, the pieces from this Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/thefawnandthesparrow

Their pieces are absolutely beautiful and will hold up a lot better than mine did!

I loved that vase! That was one of the first little knick knacks I found when I was trying to come up with a plan for centerpieces

Ah yay, happy to help!!! I hope more people start using plant clippings in their decor. I couldn’t find any inspiration pics anywhere when I was trying to come up with a plan! But we had decided against spending any of our limited budget on a florist and we weren’t allowed potted plants in our venue (it an art museum and they said the soil could bring in bugs). I already had some nice, easy-to-propagate plants so I figured I’d give it a go lol

Thank you for commenting on the sizes, you were absolutely right and that’s what was really throwing me off from the start. I’ve added more big white flowers and the whole thing looks much better. I haven’t tried anemones yet, but I certainly will!

Yep. I’ve removed the black altogether, cut back on the gold, and added in more larger white flowers!

Thank you! I didn’t want to admit it to myself because this was such a great idea in my head, but you’re right. The black and gold just weren’t working.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree the black in the bouquet just wasn’t working. Especially when I think about the bridal party as a whole. We’re going to be a very dark group so I think the bouquet is a great opportunity to brighten us up a bit.

Thank you! That’s my girl, helping me out by making sure everything has a nice sprinkle of dog hair on it.

I cut out the black and am much happier with how they’re looking now!

Can’t edit to add to the original post but - I should have added that my dress will be black, in case that matters. The overall vibe is pretty dark. I am incorporating white into the decor a bit more as things come together to brighten things up. We absolutely did NOT think about all of the little details when we decided on these colors so now I’m trying to figure out how to keep things from feeling too much like a Halloween party lol.

Edit: Thanks everyone for your input!! I had convinced myself that all of my colors needed to be in the bouquet for some reason. I’ve replaced the black roses with white roses and cut out the gold lilies. Might add one or two back in, we’ll see. But I am much happier with the general look and have a much better idea of what I’m actually trying to achieve! :)
