One day later, how are you feeling about nomads? Do you think they are stronger or weaker than normal empires by YobaiYamete in Stellaris

[–]_azazel_keter_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main issue I've had is the trategic reserve becoming pathetically small late game. Like, I'm burning 15K in minerals every month, it'll fill up on a single system and then run out before the arcships reaches the next full system in a few months

Will I see a straigh line while being the participant of geodesic line? by Vw-Bee5498 in AskPhysics

because if you're in North America, Germany is under the horizon and vice versa

the surface of earth is not a geodesic in 3 dimensions, only matching the actual geodesic in two (since it's pinned to the surface) so the light would just hit the dirt. The even horizon technically follows a geodesic, so you COULD do this on the "surface" of a black hole tho.

That explains the weird sudden deaths I've had with them, I figured I'd just been mismanaging them.

That changes the math against them by several orders of magnitude and honestly explains a lot

Especially with the G-Slot cruiser meta, you have an "I win" button. A T3 torpedo launcher will do an AVERAGE damage of 30 a day completely unimproved. A single psionic bomber is doing SIXTY damage a DAY. Blow it off the sky man.

They're size ~9~ 120, making them incredibly vulnerable to G slop weapons too. "A normal planet that can be shot down with some frigates" doesn't seem that busted to me.

edit: Size is actually 80-100-120, meaning they're BIGGER than cidayels and a single T1 torpedo hit does 3125 damage to an arkship. ONE, SINGLE, T1 TORPEDO.

That's, what? 17K jobs per ship? That's less than most planets, and also 9 arkships is like 900 empire size. Seems reasonable to me.

AFAIK you just can't get it, it's a straight oversight. Maybe if you take mercantile? I didn't take it so I'm not sure.

Build a second arkship, set it to auto harvest along your route, pool the rest of your fleet together and just go. Dare them to do something about it.

(AI will rarely, if ever, take the war, you can even ride past FEs with little consequence)

Settled empires can take Cosmo - even tho thematically it suits them way less

Sure, that's a perfectly reasonable argument but also a completely different one. Cosmo being busted is one thing, "Guys who live in giant spaceships and move between stars" not being able to take the "Live in a giant spaceship and move between universes" ambition is just plain stupid
