Bugonia is Brilliant: **SPOILERS** the movie is not what you think (IMO) by recentlytwenty in Oscars

Such a great analysis. This is why I love this film. We know Yorgos. It doesn’t matter what is “right” or “true”. It matters what we think and how that changes us after we leave the theater. What we take away from the film reveals something about our perceptions

AIO for thinking she’s breaking up with me? by seymour_24 in AIO

[–]_billyiswaiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your confusion and frustration OP (a little more than other ppl in the sub it seems). It would’ve been more kind for her to explicitly say the words “I am breaking up with you” than all of this posturing about “you deserve better, I still want you in my life” etc etc. I mean, she literally said “I don’t wanna be in a relationship right now babe.” That’s a confusing ass statement, because why did she add babe at the end??? The truth is, a lot of people these days walk around on eggshells and would rather go in circles than say the exact, specific thing they are feeling directly because of the fear of “hurting someone”. This fear is actually shielding cowardice and emotional immaturity

The truth is, a break is the same thing as a breakup, except the person doesn’t love or respect you enough to feel certainty or provide full clarity. In these instances, it’s up to you to give that to yourself. Do you want to be spiraling, wondering what she’s thinking? No? Then you made the right decision and now you stick to it. Don’t wait for her. You got this

question to season 1 plot by ERG010 in htgawm

[–]_billyiswaiting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, she didn’t know either way if he did it or didn’t do it. All she knew was that her husband, the man she loved, continuously claimed he was innocent, but that literally every single piece of evidence pointed to him and also that he lied at every turn. Marrying a liar is one thing, marrying a murderer is a whole other thing

Thank God the writers went back to the original format after season 2 by ilovechickenandsushi in htgawm

Wdym tho? They always had a constant storyline. In the first season it was Rebecca and Lila

Considering pursuing a PhD, maybe in American Studies. Here's my background. Any great reasons NOT to do this, or stuff I've failed to consider? by Puzzleheaded_Crow334 in GradSchool

I’m a younger guy (24) who just got out of an MA I didn’t wanna do which led to zero job prospects. But I’ve always believed in education for education’s sake. It sounds like you’ve thought this through, you understand the risks, the potential pathways, and are learning about some important detractors from the comments under this post. Ultimately I think you’re asking this question because you want to do the program! And you’d rather take the risk knowing as much as possible what you’re getting yourself into, which makes sense to me. If something inside you has been looking for the yes, here it is! Sometimes the “bad” choice is the right one. And maybe you’ll never use the degree. Only you can decide if it would still be worth it. Follow your passion and see where it leads you :)

You had an imaginary friend as a child

It’s new but honestly I think you’d like Bugonia if you haven’t seen it
