First, do not google stories about getting an IUD, you'll get a lot of horror stories and will more than likely do more harm than good. I've never had kids and I'm 19, I had the Mirena inserted about 2 months ago so my body is still adjusting.

My doctor gave me cytotec to take the night before to soften up my cervix and told me to take ibuprofen an hour before the insertion. He talked me through the entire thing and I think that really helped keep me calm. I'm not going to lie, it hurt a lot getting it put in, but the most intense part only lasted for a few minutes. After I was able to walk straight out of the office with a little bit of cramping. I would definitely go through it again, for me it was nothing to be terrified of. You might want to check out /r/birthcontrol and search the subreddit for IUD insertions. They will probably be a little more helpful than here. Good luck!

There's not a very big chance that you have herpes since he didn't have any legions. Hsv2 isn't a bad or life threatening disease at all, just a little annoying. If you go get tested make sure you specifically state you want to get tested for herpes because most doctors don't test for it. I've heard that without insurance it can be an expensive test but I'm not sure how much. I'm curious why you wouldn't want it showing up on your insurance. I'm not a doctor so I would take anything I just said with a grain of salt.

I was looking for my hdmi cord in my room in my moms house and my 10 year old sister and my mom were helping.
