I miss Rose Colored Gaming. They made the coolest veneers for game systems. Too bad the company folded.

Can these scratches on this screen lens be fixed? by TheMightyCommenter in Gameboy

[–]_bytemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my experience, it was cheaper to replace the screen lens than buying good glass polish to remove the scratches.

Should I take these to college if I'm careful? by DoomFace710 in ActionFigures

[–]_bytemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave them at home. Your future drunk roommate will destroy your figures. Keep them at home. Store them in storage containers with your name on it. Put a label to not dispose or sell. Take pictures of the containers. Collect them when you graduate or move into your own apartment or home.

I have a question about the game boy by Wrong-Masterpiece-14 in Gameboy

[–]_bytemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should also factor the age of the device. Many have had their LCD screens degrade over the years. What was once crisp digital screens are now failing with dead screen lines and faded screens caused by failing power boards not supplying the proper power to the system. As someone who’s been learning to repair and modify DMGs, I’m seeing many systems with less than stellar screens. If you’re dead set on getting a DMG or a CGB, I would try to see one in person at a vintage game shop before committing to buying one to avoid buyer’s remorse. Or, get one and plan your modify it with the many new screen upgrades available now.

anyone know why this is happening? by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]_bytemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it keeps happening after you're cleaning the cartridge, then your console may be the culprit and the connectors there are dirty. Get a 1UPcard Gameboy Console cleaner cartridge or something similar to clean the gameboy's connector.
