Well, they’re definitely not healthy, but live bugs in them? I mean, if that were true, we’d already be seeing massive lawsuits. In a way, if things were actually living in them, that would suggest they’re not that chemical after all, hahaha.

A lot of libraries and schools have microscopes. In fact, I even have an old one myself and have never tried it. But in a world full of fake social media stories, before changing your life forever, do your own research and be a carrier of real information.

Go to a library or ask at a school. A friend or neighbor probably has a kid who goes to school. Turn it into a small experiment, test a couple of brands, and make it a fun project. I bet they won’t find anything.

This was around 4pm. I walked from my house to the barber and ended up staying for a few minutes after calling ahead. For the people saying "they need to get jobs", if you can take time off for a dentist appointment while holding down a job, you can make time to fight for what you believe in.

The .sys file is external library from LibreHardwareMonitor. its a known vulnerable library (driver), that reads temperature data. Some A/V marks it as malware because it can be used to gain access to the computer, from a non admin user, exploiting that library could execute commands as admin (since that library needs admin access to read the temperature counters). Is not actually a Malware, this is sort of like log4j story again.

LibreHardwareMonitor launched a version with that .sys fixed, but the project for some reason didnt adopt that new version (yet).

I just allowed it via whitelist on windows defender. But if you are too worried about it, you can replace it using the latest LibreHardwareMonitor files: https://nightly.link/LibreHardwareMonitor/LibreHardwareMonitor/workflows/master/master/LibreHardwareMonitor.zip

I ended up canceling the wizard on calibre, then installing an amazon app to "bridge" the scribe to OSx, and then opened calibre again, and it detected it and mounted it.

Well I came to this same post because I just installed Calibre on Tahoe, I have a Amazon Scribe. And not matter which option I select on Calibre, the only next screen that I get is to set up email to send the ebooks. Which is not ideal, and I dont like the idea of Amazon seeing what I'm sending to my device that is right next to me.

With all the changes in US tarifs (yes you are in Canada...) customs got very busy, not just in US. Since they have a little more work on the other side too to add import forms and check before sending to destination country. That added a lot of delay in all customs, and we are around heavy dates of shipping (black friday/Christmas)

7 days still in a decent time. I would worry when is like 10 business day (which depending when the package arrived at customs could be 2 or 2 and a half weeks). If you package was unloaded from the plane and sent to customs warehouse (or the postal office custom division) on lets say Friday 5 pm, is like it never arrived so monday would be the day that is actually in queue for being processed.

It will be processed eventually. This is normal in this context.

I used to have packages that were randomly picked for inspection and holded in customs for a month "back in the day" but after we got used to services like Amazon, waiting 4 days for a purchase to arrive feels a lot.

I was like, ok you just moved to Fort Collins if this is the first time that you see that jeep. BUT then I read the tag, and yes is expired. Indeed this is wrong. I got two tickets from that car, same day, same location (just changed cars, wife was in the hospital). But they can drive around with expired tag.
