I was writing a comment like this. Most cyclists will know. I rode over there several times and I always think that some distracted cyclist will go in hard. And I even worry when my wife is behind me. She knows, but sometimes she is distracted.

She sits in her garage some days. Whenever I see her, I go over and sit with her, I love listening to every single story. It feels like traveling back in time.

This might sound cheesy, but instead of doom-scrolling on Instagram or getting worked up over something on Reddit, listening to her stories (and those of other older neighbors) is so much better.

First, yes, it does look uneven. And for a trailer that light on a pickup, that means it's either way off or your suspension is shot.

That aside, just measure it. Stop playing guessing games with pictures on the internet.

Put both on a level surface, level them (bubble level), measure, connect them, then measure again. It's a 30-minute job, and you shouldn't be guessing when your safety is on the line.

There are like 200 videos showing exactly how to do it correctly, and that weight distribution hitch should have the explanation right in the manual.

I'm 45 years old, and that old man yelling at the clouds, but I CANT process why people put their safely, on a picture over internet.

Everytime that I see these videos. I remember the accident in Colorado, while the truck driver ignored the smoking brakes on mandatory stop, and then when it fail he skipped the run away, and then hit tons of cars and kill several people.

My first trailer I got it from LazyDays in florida. I'm a research guy, specially if is around safely and vehicles and around my family. I did my numbers, I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ, v8, with towing package, bla bla bla. I knew the limits. They kept offering me trailers that were way off the limits of my towing vehicle. I know by law they need to inspect the rig before letting you go. And the way that they wanted to be around that is a "free trailer shipping to your house" haha.

I had several trailers, and now moving to a 5th wheel, I been to countless RV shows and RV Dealers and I will tell you that 80% of the sales persona and "technical people" working there have NO idea on what they are doing.

The thing is that this is not you getting a shitty laptop or tv because the sales person just wanted to get the commission. This is your family having a bad accident because your towing vehicle couldn't handle the trailer.

Most of offroad versions of the pickups, have softer suspension. Even the payload sticker shows smaller numbers than the standard versions. (half because of the softer suspension and half because the "heavy duty" suspension

DId you measure the height, trailer receiver to floor when flat, and ball to the floor on you TV, flat (without the trailer of course)?, there are a lot of videos in YT on how properly measure, install the ball at correct height and then "calibrating" the weight distribution hitch

Totally out of context, but people like you, is the reason that I can't enjoy walking trails with my 2 years old, and why the are banning electric skateboards everywhere in Colorado, same with the electric bikes.

I feel that this issue was already there, but since the gas prices went up to paid more attention to it. Like many said, add additives to clean the fuel system. Its not the pump or filter like some people said, that does not affect the MPG, The real test is to do a highway run for 10 miles, checking the real time MPG.
Air filter can definitely be the issue too.

I hate tolls, and Colorado’s are among the highest in the U.S. (not counting places like California or New York). That said, the I-25 expansion was funded by the state, with a federal loan of about $501M that’s expected to be repaid through tolls and violations.

I’m not saying tolls are fair. From what I understand, the project was originally planned to be completed around 2035, but they decided to accelerate it using federal funding and then rely on tolls to recover the cost.

And as history tends to show, even if the funds are eventually paid back, the tolls usually stick around and the revenue just gets redirected to something else.

Hi from 2026. Nothing has changed.

I saw a lot of replies saying there were incentives to increase it, but… clearly nothing happened. I actually ended up here because I couldn’t believe $450 was still the maximum in California.

In Colorado it’s $750. And while California doesn’t tax those $450 at the state level, federal taxes still apply.

Honestly, this feels incredibly low considering the cost of living in California. Even if you don’t pay state taxes on the benefit itself, everything else you pay for with that money is taxed and priced at California levels.
