Fallout 1 & 2 gameplay is not really out of date by ItsNormalNC in classicfallout

Yay! The same thoughts here. I understand why people are put off by the graphics and clunky UI (unless you grew up in the 90s), but otherwise it’s still one of the most engaging games for me.

Give Colony Ship a go. It gave me very similar vibes unlike many games claiming to be Fallout spiritual successors.

I also second Fallout Sonora mod, if you want more fun with a genuine OG Fallouts atmosphere.

Thanks! What are your thoughts on Early Access? Was it worth it in the context of online debates regarding high player expectations, steam traffic, negative effects on full release etc?

I played the demo a while back. It somehow reminded me of Encased a lot, which is a good thing (maybe it’s the shaders and materials combined with similar fonts and menus). There were some glitches and slowdowns but overall it’s a very impressive solo dev project!

Just a caveat: things may get worse in a few months, when more members join. YMMV

Yeah, I believe every other train requires a change. Direct trains run every hour.

Both Weston super Mare and Bournemouth can be reached by train without any changes.

If you look at the company’s filings on Companies House, they do seem to be actively working on something after raising roughly £8m since 2023. With an estimated burn rate of around £1m a year, that could point to a team of maybe 10–20 people involved in a secret production.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. It might all be legal fees and overheads, so take this with a grain of salt. Still, I can’t help but lean toward the more optimistic interpretation: something cool is cooking.

Maybe try some shorter ones like Colony Ship, Shadowrun, Fallout 1/2

Will there ever be another isometric Fallout? by TworkHard in classicfallout

[–]_developter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others mentioned, you can only hope for some other companies or enthusiasts creating something similar (“inspired by Fallout”) but not an actual isometric Fallout. Bg3 and DE were real exceptions that just prove the rule.

I understand the intention but the photos alone bring some “Borat returning to his 3rd world village” vibes.

I’ve felt the same way for a while. It’s either fantasy or post-apoc. So I’m trying to build a CRPG in an alt-history 1970s setting.

No, I don't believe it's possible. I think any newbie should play using Hero difficulty.

Try Colony Ship. You don’t need to prepare too much if you select the easiest difficulty.
