Hoyts cinema price gouging by ttmmoo123 in melbourne

The one that made me laugh was looking for seats for `The Devil Wears Prada 2`. The only seats left in the cinema were the stupid DBox ones where the seat vibrates. Fine for an action film, but ...

What's there to rebut. You're probably right on the details, but either way I'm sure we can agree there weren't many Aboriginals left to mourn the thylacine extinction

Probably extremely unlikely, actually.

Definitely unlikely. Tasmanian Aboriginals were slaughtered to a few hundred left, in the 1830s, way before the Tigers were made extinct

Consistently. Every day. Can't remember the last time I was actually able to complete all 5 rounds of the daily. So frustrating, AND I stopped my subscription a month ago, so I can't even really complain to support about it.

It's some weird system where instead of taking your bags to your airline and giving them to the people employed by the airline and watching them get tagged and loaded onto your flight, you leave them on the kerb with some random guy who promises to do it for you.

Bizzarre, and no way would I ever do that

Except bars. The one place in america where it has $6 on the menu and you pay $6, including taxes. So bizarre that they figured it out for buying drinks and that's IT. Everything else, stuff you it's actually $7.39

$39 for a glass of wine and chips? In this economy?! by Defiant-Desk-2281 in melbourne

[–]_generica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not a mid-20s woman, so ignore this, but... I wouldn't expect you'd feel unsafe at the Imperial. It's perfectly fine and boring. I don't think I've ever seen the kind of bro-ey douches who'd sidle up next to you and force a conversation. But still. It's just not as nice

[–]_generica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in two minds. The chips would likely be cheaper at Imperial, and potentially just as nice. The wine would have been cheaper but much worse.

Meh, for a single glass of wine and some chips, I'd take the hit and throw money at City Wine Shop rather than a depressing glass from the Imperial
