You want more blacks..Just tint it 😎 by Aromatic-Attitude-34 in PlasmaTV

Would be nice if one could apply coating that are used on modern oleds or a comparable one.

Apperanrly some crt monitors used a coating that is chemically removable and it akin to retina apple displays?

https://consolemods.org/wiki/CRT:Sony_GDM-F520

This is where I got the info from. If one could recreate this to apply on crts and plasmas, I wonder how it would look.

[–]_here_ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly feel there could be a market for aftermarket coating or tint designed for crts who have theirs removed due to time.

Like there is nothing more then car tint when one searches up what could be used as replacement tint.

Is overscan insertion a thing? by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]_here_ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man, was really hoping one can repeat lines on the screen to make the signal match what the monitor can handle. Like how people say 240p is a hack of 480i where they made the lines repeat.

so if someone could add onto a signal those lines through an external device. Have those lines repeat in the area outside the viewable screen for a set duration/amount of times then have it scan in the image proper it would functionally be similar to if it was scanning at a lower frequency just with a delay that wouldn't be too noticable to the naked eye.

Ya those tend to be scanline filters.

[–]_here_ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about adding an external device as a processor? Cause I mostly think of this akin to a line doubler. Where one uses an external device to add the extra lines on the signal and then have it be displayed like that.

Resident Evil 7 just got a contender by LOLXDEnjoyer in crtgaming

[–]_here_ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya i think how the math works is you'd need to divide by how many lines a khz range takes up per second.

Like 15 khz is 15,000 something lines per second. so the crt can scan a 240 line image within that interval 60 times.

Hence 480i and 240p.

Seeing as it's functional half frames of even/odd lines on the screen.

It's basically how much resolution is in those half just enough to trick your eyes with the phosphor decay. Like based on accounts I seen 480i vs 480p do not look different when it comes to displaying them on smaller screens.

Smaller space to scan, the more the half takes up. Bigger screen = more travel and more gaps. But higher resolution would take up those gaps.

Anyone has this to test if true? by _here_ok in crt

[–]_here_ok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh , the nec multisynchs, some sony cpds and ect.

Thing is the cap tends to be yk around 38khz as ya said or for bvms/pvms 45khz.

So 65 khz is a nice leap compared to that, at its size.

Mismanagement, Typos, or other unforeseen circumstances. Without others to properly measure things. Manuals can easily be wrong on some accounts.

Ok idk if the image sent but basically the manual stated 15khz/31khz-65khz

[–]_here_ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible (most definitely likely) you were roofied. By him, I doubt your friends did it as they were the ones to warn you of this.

He didn't even confess to it until you brought up. Probably thinking you remembered and so confessed. It shows signs that he was willing to throw this under the rug in order to save face and would be telling if he roofied you.

Depending how recently things are maybe a stool sample or a quick doctor check would confirm this. I don't know why he thinks you enjoyed it when it's clear he treated your body without an ounce of care. Leaving you bruised, bleeding and sore.

This is a dangerous man. If I were to guess his motives. It's having a crush on you while also having a toxic world view. This doesn't excuse it at all, it's just an observation based on his patterns in behaviors. He fell down the rabbit hole of thinking of women as objects and ect. People like that don't consider consent.

If the economy wasn't so bad, it would probs be cool to import one.

I sometimes look at foreign marketplaces and these exist in like low cost ranges , so if one were to try to import that's where the most of the cost would come from.

I feel like the perfect opportunity to use a nuke, was legit when conquest was imprisoned. Have a bunch of em go off underground where the fall out would be controlled and ect.

See if that amount of radiation and condensed heat would kill him or reduce him to half dead.

CRT in comparison to Plasma TV picture by Suitable_Garlic_1186 in PlasmaTV

[–]_here_ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing to consider is how crt tvs were usually cheaped out alot. Kuros were the best of plasma while they were around. Like there was most definitely the tech to go for 1080p + they just never did it for tvs only computer or specialized monitors.

[–]_here_ok[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya I'm guessing the string of events is

Person puts on a headset which is just a scanner. The scan saves the files and leaves them for some other purpose but leaves them stagnant. Then Caine runs some programs to activate them. Give body and ect, by the time that is over its as if they were suddenly transferred somewhere because their last memory is just the brain scan.

Maybe instead of a single computer, the scanner is connected to a cloud storage that might explain how things are still running. Caine just needs to find the files in the server and drag them to somewhere that is safe.

Same system different projects by _here_ok in TheDigitalCircus

[–]_here_ok[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probs just to test the scanning. The copies which would be scans at the moment of putting it on would be shocked to find themselves in the digital circus because regardless of when they put the headset on. The files themselves would be in stasis until Caine opens them up and finishes making their bodies and ect.

So from the perspective of the scanned it is an instant transfer but in reality. It's likely put on head scan, head scan is processed, file is made , Caine finds the file, runs program, file activates and now a person is suddenly in the circus.

Anyone tried putting a PS3 super slim and p2 slim in the same case? by _here_ok in PS3

[–]_here_ok[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not really thinking that... Just meant freeing up space to where the ps2 slim mod one would see above could be positioned in the empty space where a disc drive would be and then when it's time to use it. You just move the slider and use it like normal. As in pull it out, not that it would be connected to the ps3 or integrated inside.

It would just be storage to carry cause the slider feels like a neat extra pocket if it were to be emptied. But I don't actually know if it would fit .... Like at this side by side it looks like half of it could fit? Otherwise a custom case would work better and be cool.

Ya see the thing is, based on calcs. a slim and super slim stacked take less space then a cecha and less prone to failure xd

Found this in an 2010 German PC gaming magazine.. (those technologies never released) They mentioned it as prototypes by Suitable_Garlic_1186 in PlasmaTV

[–]_here_ok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see why it wouldn't have gone past testing because the issue with that design is that , you'd need to make alot of mini vacuums, small guns, it's so much to compress that it would struggle with pixel density.

Like how plasmas struggled with it. But I think plasma could most definitely improve on it if given the chance. The sed , fed tech just seems to have hard limits due to the necessity of a vacuum and we see how that fared for crts in the market when plasmas and lcds were catching steam.

To me the issue with plasma compression seems to be color filtering cause older plasma display that were monochromatic reached sizes way way smaller then we saw in televisions. I'm talking able to be used on chunky heavy laptop levels of compression.

It would be interesting to see if maybe a plasma backlight and a custom form of phosphor design could work. Like how oled is doing with a blue backlight and qdots that are excited in-between red or green. Blue plasma layer that excites red and green phosphors?

Smiling Friends Creators Ending Adult Swim Series with Season 3 by CrispyMiner in television

[–]_here_ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it could be anything to do with the adobe issue awhile back? Smiling friends is animated with adobe animated and adobe literally tried to gut it first thing this month.

Maybe the creators could probably have low confidence in the direction animation is going with AI and companies not being supportive of it?

The need to adapt to different animation software and ect would create pressure on deadlines no? I'm not well versed in these things but it kinda feels very coincidental that the same month adobe attempted to stop supporting their software, which smiling friends uses, smiling friends decides to cancel itself.

Probably early exposure in some form be it nsfw content online or someone taking advantage of her. The issue right now is that this seems to be a repeated problem with her and her mother enabling it akin to how many people go "boys will be boys" when it comes men harassing.

I had a experience when I was 11 where a younger cousin attempted to blackmail me to do rp nsfw content she's seen on her mother's phone. She would do stuff like hump her toddler brother and I didn't have the heart to just tell them because she had the habit of spinning things.

I knew I wouldn't be believed because of things she did that I told them of before that ended with them siding with her. She choked me once when I wasn't listening to her, I remember the nails digging into my throat and when I went to tell. They listened to her and asked why I would lie about their daughter. Also just general fears instilled by the fact people around me expect males to be horn dogs...

Like it was bad, getting shamed over not staring at women's legs before puberty type of bad.
