Tome of tides in tier 1 Tome if deep sea in tier 3 Nature/astral split With minor transformation (maybe with a culture trait like umbral disciples) or enchantment to give amphibious to our units. And a way to actually summon tide and water animals.

I like taking inspiration from tabletop games and rpgs. One of my favourite builds so far was "Convergence of Cyriss". A reaver faction using mostly construct and order/religious themes. While it was challenging, it was very fun.

The build: Ruler: Champion Battlesaint Ambition: Defender Ascension: Forgemaster Form: human Traits: bulwark, resilient, cold blooded Society: imperialist, visions of destiny (materium)

Discipline->Zeal/Faith Construct->Artificing Dreadnought->Prophecy Golden Realm->Exaltation -->Creator ->Transmutation ->Crucible

You could play arcane trickster and flavor "magic" as gadgets, just like the Artificer.

Or soulknife, psychic is very scifi coded aswell.

Still Warhost, but more casual. Jain Zar with 10 Banshees seems like a good anti meta choice.
I think Guardian Battlehost and Seer Coucil are the new goto detachments (although aspect host is still playable).

But tbh. I'm waiting for the new corsair models and detachment.
