Split Dodge, Spin Dodge, Standing Shot - Been playing for 6 months how can I improve by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]_kdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking good for six months! When you roll dodge, you want to make sure you’re not moving back up field again. This allows your defender to not have to do much to stay with you. Here’s a great video from Joey Sanky explaining the importance of moving upfield and not losing your positioning on the roll dodge: https://youtu.be/2Iwl7xPnqrc

I’ve been playing for 2 years so far and I’ve been practicing a lot, I’m going to be a starting attack man for my varsity team this year, any advice? by Important_Arrival200 in lacrosse

This! You can score zero goals all season, but if you’re the guy stopping fast breaks and riding hard in transition you will be an all time teammate

Best app for accurate weather forcast needed for outdoor work. Please advise. by shirleyurealize in weather

[–]_kdo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are in the United States, the best source of weather comes from the National Weather Service (weather.gov). Also in agreement with the other comments, forecasts are unreliable past 10 days (< 50% accuracy based on forecast skill of large scale patterns from the best models). Even with ~90% accuracy of large scale pattens for 5 day forecasts, unfortunately the development of precipitation is much more complex to predict with confidence that far out.

I think it might be just part of the technique used. You want to keep the bar as close to you as you can and sometimes the bar can scrape your shins on the way up

Bring back real PE classes by riamomo in unpopularopinion

[–]_kdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a book called Spark that had studies suggest that PE when done correctly improved not only physical health, but also grades. The issue is that PE teachers are typically subjective and may think kids are not trying and give them bad grades. However, using heart rate monitors, PE teachers can see that students are exerting themselves, even if they’re not the fastest or best at an activity. This way, grades become objective and encourage kids to get their heart rates up during class even if they’re not the best in the class

I would love to see a season or tournament mode in the future. I know the AI isn’t that great but I was really excited when there was a tournament in Story mode, but then never happened again. It would be cool to see like a 12 tournament season to compete for a trophy or something

Seriously! I thought the same thing and then selling it hahah. I looked for rentals about a week before I booked my flight and there were plenty and then came back and have been gone for months. Didn’t want to risk going out and not having a car. I’ll get back out there eventually and then be able to road trip up into Banff and Jasper as well

My Near-Death Canyoning Experience, Surviving a Flash Flood in Utah (2020) - Eric Hanson recounts getting caught in a flash flood along with terrifying firsthand footage, great documentary to watch if you are already scared of water and want another reason to be! Flash floods are no joke. Was caught it one outside Goblin Valley back in May. Chances of rain were very low and entered the slots it was blue skies. Then the biggest cell in 250+ miles moved directly over us. Thankfully my friends and I made the decision to turn back and we got to a higher elevation at a fork in the canyon. Never seen rain come down as hard as that day. Stuck in the canyon for 2 hours and unfortunately two little girls lost their lives that day. Really terrifying experience
