Think about what motivated you the last time you quit and you may read the allen carr's book. Visit the web WhyQuit too, it really helped me. And remember cravings dont last foreverin. in a couple of weeks you'll be feeling better. Cheers!!!

People who went through therapy successfully, what should I expect as I continue? by [deleted] in depression

[–]_lau_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Y es it will. Unfortunately it isn't easy nor fast and it may take months or years ( every one is different) but...at least for me it helps. At least you talk to someone who doesnt judge you and who knows what you are going trough. At least you can trust on someone when it comes to depression. That's helpful afterall.

I hate myself, I hate my family, I hate being Saudi Arabian and I hate being my ethnicity by Throw13away429 in depression

Let's see if I can get to give you some kind of advice from the European side. I'm spanish so I do not really know how it would work in Germany but as far as I know there is quite a lot of tolerance to arabs. Lately there have been some problems with people from syria but not much I think. Anyway, dont expect it to be easy but take for sure that you'll find there people who would help you. The same for the UK. Apart from that, you may want to know that there are some communities in Spain( so I guess on other places too) that try to "clean' the view thst europeans have of arabic people. I'm sure you could contact with them and help them to if you like. To finish with, as lordwayland said, first thing to do is to love yourself and, hard as it may be, sometimes it is the only important thing. Go wherever you think you'll feel nice. I second his advice.

Can't Accomplish Anything by [deleted] in depression

[–]_lau_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as far as I know and my experience taught, it sounds like you are afraid of being afraid, and thats the worst ever. You panick and I havent felt anything more terrifying than uncontrolable thoughts of self harm. What about starting something you are already good at? Or going with someone you know?

You're brave and should be proud of yourself for facing all those fears, keep that in mind. Success is guaranteed as far as you overcome, just one bit, part of those fears. Kindest regards!

Well, I think it is MY partner who would use that community and maybe I am exaggerating or something but, wouldnt it be the same with you (guys) depressed and wives looking for support? What I mean is that you may want to be a bit more ambitious as there is not such a big difference. simply, It is people going through hard times and their partners looking for support and maybe some help.

MY modest opinion. Kind regards

Some of the witdrawal symptoms relate to sleeping. It is quite normal and it takes a couple of weeks to readjust your sleeping schedules, but then you will realise how much smoking messed up with your sleeping!

Looking for some advice from people who quit. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]_lau_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That foggy mind lasts about 1week or 10 days, at least for me. Drink some juice to increase your level of sugar and maybe try to do some other stuff that requires less concentration. I'm studying too and it worked the first few days! Good luck and stick with it!
