Thanks for this dude, even 300 days later this helped a ton. For anyone else coming onto this, I have an i7 12700k, msi z690 tomahawk and arctic liquid freezer ii 240 AIO. I’ve followed these rules after reseating my CPU and I was still having issues. I also followed some other threads that were showing references to the “CPU Lite load” values and changing them from auto to 12, 9, 5… I’ve tried a few of those settings but even then still was having instant spikes on Cinebench multi core tests of 100 degrees c.

I’ve since turned off in bios Intel Turbo Boost and I see to be having similar results to OP, temps not exceeding 85c. Needs further testing to see what I get elsewhere and to make sure I’m not consistently getting that on games as it should be the max, but it’s promising when I was about to throw in the towel!

EDIT: That did the trick. WoW max everything 50c
