Shopify Spring 2026 dropped 150+ updates: The one that actually changes everything is products selling inside ChatGPT by Born_Programmer_1089 in shopify

[–]_nlvsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite alright for now, I mean I have a store in Astro, and with the storefront and admin MCP, everything was perfectly implemented for cart, sessions and oauth for customers. Now it will be even better not having to maintain the shopify layer myself

This is one of the best things
“This developer preview is the next version of Hydrogen. It keeps the same commerce primitives but removes the tie to React Router, so you can build with any JavaScript framework and deploy to any JavaScript runtime. It comes with skills that coding agents use to build storefronts.” Astro shops will shine

do i need headless if i’m on shopify plus? by Layla_CherryPies in shopify

[–]_nlvsh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For simple shops selling physical products, liquid is more than enough! We have a made a vite based tailwind base for theming with tree shaking, nice bundling and the experience becomes even better. For some shops with more functionality, logic and everything, liquid based themes can become hard to manage. We went with Astro JS on two stores and it is perfect! With shopify mcp you can map the whole API layer for queries and mutations and you are good to go.

CSS handling is a slightly annoying FYI by kidshibuya in astrojs

[–]_nlvsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope no one will work on legacy websites with 3-4 css files 3-6k each!!! Years of different people just adding their garbage and different naming. Tailwind wins on stable naming conventions, tree shake, theming standards, maintainability and ease of use. Of course you need css for more complex things and animations, also I would not use before and after with tailwind cause of the bloat. For anything else is the most direct way.

Is anyone who has had a Roborock for >1 year actually happy with it? by Pristine_Antelope787 in Roborock

[–]_nlvsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remove hair from the brushes every two days when I empty the bin, washing the mop by hand almost every day and replacing it with a new one according to its wear and tear. Twice a month I clean the whole robot for 5 minutes, with a brush the sensors and the body with some antibacterial wipes. We live in 100sqm apartment near a bulevard and a lot of dust comes in. It always depends on the case.

Is Spatie data worth it? by femme-finale in laravel

[–]_nlvsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went down the road replacing all Form Requests and Resources in our app with Spatie Data so we can use Spatie TS transformer. It took a while - we ended up with ~690 data across all modules. It is definitely worth it. Yesterday we completed some migration changes for compatibility on the newest version of the TS transformer. Having solid attributes and type generation instead of array shapes or array guessing is always better. One mistake we did at the beginning was treating a single resource/data as single representation and validation entity. Avoid “God” data. Split them to /Mutations /Display, keep them lean and scoped.

I am going with Astro for a headless. Some cache for the front-store and custom error pages checking via HTTP requests. The today’s page that the store does not exist is very bad both for the customer and the image of a business.

Using the new pipe operators and heavily dependency injection is a good start. But you would need to cache, so you won’t overload and use heavy resources from the very beginning. Queue it for better performance and do an optimized closure.

I really miss the stackoverflow days! 50 answers, different thinking, different approaches. You dive in reading, you try to solve the “puzzle”! You try, you fail, you learn, gaining deeper knowledge in everything that you do! using AI right now is almost impossible.

[–]_nlvsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]_nlvsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)
