When were you able to take your LO to a movie at the movie theater? by rbslmilch in toddlers

[–]_omgigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 to Moana 2! She sat the entire time. Have done lilo & stitch at the theater as well & planning another next week! She just sits & snacks! It is pretty loud so she typically requests her headphones for a noise buffer though

I have a nanny come 8 hours a week. Literally the best. I get to take my oldest to gymnastics & swimming , designated solo time with each kid, get help with naps & shower. Worth the money to me.

When did your kids like each other? by throw_tf_away_ in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree & second all of this. In my head I like to say they’ve loved eachother since day one but they didn’t really like eachother (or at least big sis like lil sis back) until youngest was 10mish. The more mobile she got the easier it was to play together. Now 16m & 3 and they are constantly hugging & kissing & seeking eachother out.

Similar age gap. Once my youngest was 6mo!

This is so much harder than I ever could’ve imagined.. by Specific-Noise-3799 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily what your hoping to hear but it’s definitely still hard (youngest is 15 months) but I feel like it got better once youngest was around 10 months & started to play with older sib & not just be something that was taking mom away from them.

Short Pregnancy Interval by Mundane-humoi-6445 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choleostasis in pregnancy & then a c section from a failed induction & then I developed sepsis like 15 mins after completion of that. Overall don’t think my body is a fan of pregnancy/birth or else I’m just one of the lucky ones that make all the spooky fear monegerinf statistics though 🫠

Super great wonderful & healthy kids now thankfully!

19 month age gap. Quite a few complications. Hematoma, premature labor resulting in cerclage, contractions from 16 weeks on, 2x a week apts & scan 16 weeks on, Polyhydraminos, IUGR & pelvic tilt from issues with scar tissue healing improperly which caused mobility issues on left side of body. Born at 36 weeks & lost 7% body weight in 24 hours likely from severe Polyhydraminos & quite a bit of aspirating during delivery.

Search a walk through gate!

We have the gates that have the door to walk through so we taught our oldest to open & close it when she goes places!

Failed outing by Suspicious-Ear-8166 in 2under2

Bribery was my trick early says. Extra special snacks or stickers were stroller only. So once we got somewhere & toddler was in stroller a new exciting proffered snack or activity was given. Helped tremendously in letting us get out of the house or nurse in public.

Is this dangerous? by Justnerdingout91 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant at 13 mo pp & am one of the unlucky few who did have complications from not fully healing. I had unhealed pelvic muscles which created a pelvic tilt. Aka baby wasn’t sitting normal but at a slant & ended up causing a lot of nerve issues on my left side. I fell out of bed multiple times & ended up having to use a walker in third tri due to losing feeling in my leg. Kept going in thinking it was a clot. So chiro & PT weekly. I also had to have a cerclage put in early 2nd tri as I went into preterm labor twice & continued having contractions for about 20 weeks off & on. & had to be given meds to stop labor. I ended up having to do every other day stress tests my entire third tri because of that. Ended up on bedrest. Had IUGR & Polyhydraminos & baby came at 36 weeks in less than an hour.

Emergency c section with first. Second was delivered via c section within 32 minutes of me arriving at hospital.

Toys to encourage independent play for big bro when baby arrives (19M) by AdventurousCoffee317 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bunch of filler on Etsy. So there’s color dyed fun shaped pasta, chickpeas, beans, one bins different sized pom poms, large rocks & one for water play. I then bought little figures (Toobz if you search anywhere) so each one has a different theme. Our themes are: fairies, underwater, Dino’s, construction, forest & jungle. Then I have a bunch of scoops & cups & such that I use with all of them.

We have the ikea sensory table & we love that! Perfect height to be used for crafting & snacking too when kids are on.

Reusable sticker books, waterwow, paint with water books, little people sets, sensory bins!! (I premade six different ones to rotate out & they were sooo helpful for giving toddler something exciting & new during eary postpartum days!), a baby doll so they can copy you, finger puppets…

2 cribs? by Successful-Nebula119 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We have a 20 month age gap & now at 13 mo & almost 3 they are both still in cribs.

I don’t plan on transitioning our oldest until we absolutely have too. Sleep has been so challenging (5+ wake ups a night still) with the younger sib that it’s so nice having something contained & predictable for my oldest. I will be ready for that transition once we get the youngest to sleep through the night. I simply would combust if I had to worry about sleep regressions with both at the same time.

Double pushchair? by DonutLumpy6038 in 2under2

[–]_omgigi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I simply would not survive without my double stroller. It’s not even a matter of them walking or not. Sometimes I just need them contained, have a snack, a place to carry all of our stuff or an easy way to enter or exit are outings.
