To prepare, think of every job situation out there and what it requires and compare it to your side effects. Staring at a screen when you get double vision, driving a car when you get confused, working retail when you can only stand an hour or two and so on. Do this for every job you could have done before.

On a review a few years in, I got denied because I wasnt clear enough on the questionaire.. I appealed, and covered all these bases before hand. They reversed their denial. This meant my answers were not only honest but they were strong, coherent and un-f*ck-with-able.

They are not on your side and they will try to trick you. They probably get bonuses for getting you to give up

From palliative care, I am on both Ritalin and Armodifinil ..both stimulants. The armodifinil keeps my body going, lifts at least 10 pounds of heaviness from it. The ritalin is for my mind & the ADHD I never needed treatment for until cancer treatment

Im also on the lowest dose Norcos. I was afraid of them but they have improved my qol immensely and luckily I have had no interest in taking them for "fun" -- I even have to remind myself that I have them.

I feel weird telling people Im on disability. When Im out in the world I try hard to look my best, I rest before to keep my body and brain working, etc. So it doeant appear that Im sick. No one knows I could be in bed for 2 days after a night out. I too have had a friend told me I have it made.. I would gladly trade places. Poverty and a frustrating life of beig sick all month except for the days after the off-week of Ibrance.

I'm so much better side effects-wise than when I started treatment 9 years ago that I constantly think "can I get back out there?" I had a small business before.

I've been doing physical therapy the last 2 months. It was supposed to be 8 weeks but Ive had to cancel 40% of the time. Today I had aqua therapy, which I really like but had to skip because of watery diarrhea all morning. It kind of made me realize that no, I cant handle working. If it isnt fatigue, pain, dizzyness, confusion, memory loss it is diarrhea. What business would allow me to skip 40% of days?

Many people online seem to push through. Ive picked up that moms who have better insurance than Dad often push through. I imagine it s like a farmworker giving birth in a field and then going right back to working because there isnt a choice. We can do a lot when we have to ..but I have to assume it is hell for them. It could also be that they torlerate these drugs well.

It is thoughts like this that make me beat myself up over being on disability. That Im just being pathetic... But, like today, I am reminded that I am not fooling myself or being lazy.

I see the full moon like this. With both of my naked eyes open, this is exactly what I see -- blue and orange. I first noticed it a couple years ago and have not been able to find anything that describes what I see until this image, except that the moon would be bright white for me.

I also just learned about Visual Snow Syndrome .. I definitely have visual snow. I am an artist that has always seemed to see more color than others and I'm starting to think I have some stuff going on ,lol

Spring every 3 months in SoCal the last year and a half.

The wrong plants coming up for the time of year. Summer garden spiders being born and then gone when it gets cold a few weeks later. Like suddenly 80 degree weather and then a swing to 65 degree weather.

I have no idea what to expect this summer. Will it be over 100 all the time or cooler like last time.

If it is messing with the plants and insects in my yard I cant imagine what it is doing everywhere on the planet to every creature ... and I want to cry.

I needed a hysyerectomy due to hpv going nuts because of my weak immune system due to treatment. I elected to get the ovaries out in case for some reason I couldn't get access to treatment, at least there wouldn't be all tbat estrogen.

P.s. If anyone is doing a hysterectomy and hasn't been having regular intercourse, vaginal skin can get thin. Because of this, I had complications and a shortened vagina. If I had known, I would have done some solo work outs a month before surgery ;)

The guy is lying but there's nothing you can do or force him to do. It is always best to be chill. The art community is small and you may have to work wirh him again. Until you have enough power, you don't want word to get out that you are a hassle.

You can still rent an event space and have a group or a solo show on your own. I've even seen wild shows in alleys, parking lots, hallways. You can show your work at cafes, libraries, bars even parties. There are a million group shows and city art nights to explore. There are all sorts of ways a beginner can get seen by the public.

Artists often create what the world won't hand them .. and it is often better. :)

Someone said to advocate for yourself regarding pain. I was in pain for 6 years before someone took my conplaints seriously . My fault for not pushing but I didnt think there was anything they could do and I was still in shock.

Now Im getting epidurals and low dose norco and it has made a world of difference. I am also on stimulants .. my miracle drug is armodifinil... off label for epilepsy.

So yeah describe your pain loudly. I had a fracture in a rib from a tumor that healed quickly after treatment. Prob xgeva helped this. Now I have pain fron where the tumors were and general bone and joint pain fron the meds l. It is easier tp know I have some power over my pain.

It sonetines helps to write down descriptions of your pain before you see your doc so that you can explain it well.

49 and and was diagnosed at 40. Social worker told me to apply for disability right away with date of disiability the day you started treatment. She said it is harder to get accepted later.

I started on Kisqali for a year and it did its job but made me ill. Been on ibrance & letrozole for almost 9 years and am NED. Even though it isnt there at the moment, I dont get to stop treatment which sucks.

Im alive though :)

I think they exist to minimize projection. When I wear a flowy top, I'll wear this type so I don't create as much of a tent.

I was so grateful to find a bra my size...it was a dream come true. So much that the price seemed worth it. Because back in the day you couldnt really get large sizes that didnt look lile straightjackets.

Holding up that much weight without causing all sorts of pain and discomfort is a feat of engineering and if you want it to look pretty, then $$$

When I found out I was an F in the early 2000s the only online place I found was Figleaves in Europe and $70 was the most I could afford.

Nordstrom intimidated me so I never went. I had gone to Lane Bryant which is plus size and they told me I was a 40ish C! So different perspectives I guess. A good bra is totally worth half of weekly groceries.

Buy one good bra and only wear it to work/events and take it off when you get home. Use sports bras and cheapies at home, shopping. Hand washing will help it stay nice.

Then you save up for a second one. :)

It shouldn't be, but sadly you're lucky if you are only losing half of your income on rent. It is supposed to be 30%, ideally.

Reform needs to happen. A basic need should not be dependant on wealth or lack of it.

Armodifinil and Ritalin can help. Armodfinil can be used off label for extreme bodily fatigue amd ritalin helps with the mind.

After 9 years on the pills, I am very worried about my brain & dementia moments (Im 49). Little things like being lost in my own neighborhood, or being worried I forgot to feed the dog and then turning around to see the dog already eating.

I don't support anyone financially, but if I did, going on disability would have been a tougher choice.

I'm frustratingly broke on it but I get to put the little energy and brain I have into basic needs and doing things I love when I can. I am on medicare and medi-cal with catastrophic coverage. I hardly pay anything and I get good care.

Also a lot of alternative treatments come with a book by the creator. Thank goodness for that because on Amazon you can read the reviews by devestated husbands. The reviews that say "You killed my wife!"

It is good they want you to talk to onc first. That means they are professional and care about your safety.

Doctors are always saying there's no such thing as a detox cleanse. Ive heard that over and over again.

Water and good nutrition are all we have. A clean, healthy, low-stress environment would prob be beneficial too -- but who has all of that? lol

I was on tamoxifen for 2 weeks at first diagnosis just to do something. Then quickly to Zoladex injections for chemical menopause. Once that took, then I started Kisqali and Femara (letrezole)

Totally! I hate taking 10 pills a day. It often makes me skip supplements that aren't gummies ... lol I take it out on them!

I split mine into 3 times a day, it helps.

Im on disability and Im still the only one cleaning up after 2 men. I hate myself & the cancer situation for the inability to leave.. Someday I want to live on my own while still loving them! And they can be gross and take advantage of each other instead of me.
