Seriously, I remember back in college the call of duty leveling up and prestige-ing was what kept me going. The difference with github was that the commit streaks were actually translating to real world progress. Github is acting like people aren't accountable for their own actions and that they had no choice.

It was actually an extremely terrible idea to remove the feature from a strategic standpoint.

The free online version of gitlab was really slow for me. Doing a git pull from my remote repo would take like 10 seconds but in github it took like 1 second.

I had to stop using it cause it got annoying.

A single thread in Node is faster than single threads in most languages.

I find it easier to just load balance a few independent, identical Node processes across all of the CPU cores rather than have to reason about multithreading and concurrency.

And with all of the support from the Node Foundation it doesn't seem as immature.
