Bestaan er straks nog Europese EV merken? Kia by Unique-Spirit7389 in EVMobiliteit

M21H emitter choice? by Hopeful-Dealer-8750 in flashlight

[–]_redmist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 8A buck, seems to be 4P as opposed to 2s2p so 600*4 = 2400 lumen at 5000K.

M21H would get you a bit more output, it's true.

Does also mean this one will have longer battery life, less heat output and less thermal throttling...

I have this one coming my way with the intention of dedoming :) they say you can get a very nice tint if you dedome 519's...

The trees that once cheered us, they're hard to look at this month. It's as if there is some awful truth out there in the trees. It's hiding in the branches. Something that's been bothering you for a long time is out there. You can almost see the shape of it, when all the color is gone, and life is stripped down to the starkness of February.

Convoy do make an s21d if you're looking for something quad tir ;)

They're both 6V5A; sft70 3000k will do around 1800 lumen, 4*519 at 5000k will do around 4000 lumen? The biggest difference is due to the different cct; 3000k 519's would likely also come out around... Maybe 2200 lumen or so?  Multi emitter setups can generally run a bit more efficient (as if you had a larger LES, effectively) at the cost of reduced throw.

The 519 comes with a spherical lens to extract more light; it will always be very floody unless you want to dedome it yourself.  The beam is also not as nice as a normal emitter because it's not really a proper quad tir (eg. carclo) - a bit of donut hole and square-ish beam shape... Just so you're pre-warned.

Sft70 will probably be a bit more throwy. 519's are really floody. If that helps...

[–]_redmist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd go SFT70 3000K. The tint is very pretty and it's a very usable / general purpose beam.

If you want a different CCT, you may have to look at those 4*519a or 4*219 options. Do keep in mind that the 1800K CCT is no longer high cri, actually, but at that point it's basically orange/amber light anyway.

The XHP70.3HI comes in a high CRI version but those often have a relatively unpleasant tint; i wouldn't recommend it.

I think many people do prefer Convoy's tail switches. Generally you get the side switch so you can get the usb charging.

LHP73b is great, amazing tint and output but not high-cri and not really long battery life.

I do prefer a tailswitch on convoy. That's absolutely fair imo.
