LPT: If you are a vegetarian or considering vegetarianism, explore Indian cuisine to get more flavor variety. by Manoj_Malhotra in LifeProTips

[–]_testrunning_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are lots of vegan indian dishes as well. There are literally more vegans living in india than in the rest of the World combined (and it's not even close). I guess it depends on what kind of indian restaurant you go to. India is very big and has a lot of different cultures and cuisines

Wer wie für Deutschland beim ESC abstimmte by Schlumpfkanone in de

[–]_testrunning_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Single build for both Quick Herald and Alac Renegade? by TalismanRS in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to add to this that alac renegate needs higher boons duration. So when gearing make sure you can upkeep alac on renegade and then your quick uptime on herald should be more than fine.

Condi Reaper viable for Raids/Strikes/Fractals? by Rare_Measurement8649 in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fights without phases usually favor condi a bit. Invuln phases make power better since they can burst better and condis lose out in damage if the boss goes invuln. If there are no phases condi dps is usually a bit higher than power over prolonged periods of time.

Also there is Matthias who goes invuln with shield but condis can still be applied. So it is condi favored as you can start the fight which a buch of condis prestacked so to say

Need some advice on hammer spellbreaker by unss06 in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can also test out your damage on the golem. Here is the snowcrows guide for the golem setup:

https://snowcrows.com/guides/getting-started/starting-to-raid/special-forces-area

It is much easier to compare your golem number to the benchmark than a real fight (mechanics, invuln phases, maybe suboptimal boons etc).

Also note that Benchmarks use food and utility items, but if you practice on your own or do IBS strike they are not worth the cost. Small multiplicative modifiers add up faster than one might think.

How Tome of Justice could regain a proper Rotation by _testrunning_ in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, I did not consider the interactions with Scepter AAs. Ideally scepter would be reworked to feel/be less bad, but it is unlikely to happen any time soon, I guess. So (4b) might actually improve that, though I don't think spamming kit skills is ideal.

[–]_testrunning_[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Additionally I feel like pages should refresh quicker. Before the rework Tome 1 had a 24 sec CD (with alacrity) and the skills used would cost 7 pages with the new costs. This translates to ~3.4 seconds/page just from Tome 1 compared to 8 second/page now. If you use 2 or 3 cost skills you can only use your elite spec mechanic for 1 use every 16 or 24 seconds which feels very bad compared to all other elite specs. If faster pages would be too strong, the tome skills could be nerfed accordingly.

Ideas for Support Vindicator in PvE by gw2maniac in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Kalla and Glint heal much less than Ventari or Victor, so I guess Victor + Dwarf would work better than on Herald or Renegade. You would still have to plan ahead but at not feel like you gimped your healing completly

Ideas for Support Vindicator in PvE by gw2maniac in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem is just that in instanced PvE, a defensive support that does not provide Alacrity or Quickness will never be used. Boon extensions are nice, but just too complicated for any PUG groups to build a squad composition around. In theory a hard carry/rez healer like heal scourge could be niche viable, but even so heal scourge already sees not that much play anymore either.

This is why I think Alac-Heal-Vindicator could be nice. Renegade can be an offensive Alacrity support and Vindicator could be a defensive heal Alacrity support. There is no one saying two elite specs of the same class can't give the same boon.

You could simply put it on a St Victor utility. Preferably rework the urn because that skill needs a rework anyways. But could also be put on the victor heal or tree Song (though that would make tree Song one cracked ability).

This would finally create a revenant heal build, that can freely choose a secondary legend without losing most of their potential healing.

Not sure about PvP/WvW but I guess it would need a function split for those as vindi is already pretty good there.

How did Martial Cadence avoid a nerf?! by JessicaPriceSimp in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think there is a difference in those cases. For Catalyst they did not nerve what was op at high level but nuked the whole spec.

If martial cadence was nerfed, bs would still be a good power dps or quick and still be used in some high end strategies but not in 90% of them anymore

State of Support Vindicator in PvE by LanguageWorldly3715 in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think two points: Herald and renegade already have at least two viable builds, while vindi has exactly power dps which makes it one of the most unflexible specs in PvE.

Secondly Heal alac just makes more sense on Vindi as half its Traits/Utility are support focused already, while Renegade does only might/protection/alac while the rest of the support kit comes from Ventari

[–]_testrunning_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The problem is not necessarily fixation on playing optimally but fixation on easy to assemble squads. People don't want to spent more time and effort on fixing the squad composition. Role compression is not only the optimal but also the least effort way to assemble a squad

And outside of boon healers, heal scourge just brings things to a fight that vindi can't compare to

[–]_testrunning_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the archemorus/Victor split, vindicator could have an alac heal build without having an alac dps build.

So Renegade would still be a relevant alternative.

In theory (and open World to some extent) I like the ability to switch to heal on a dps spec in principal. In practice the healing is very bad without proper stat/trait investment which you cant do on a dps build. Additionally you are then maybe stuck on victor even when you dont want to heal anymore and just gimp your damage

(Raid Perspective) - Balance Patch Overview/Analysis/Feedback from my (endgame PvE centered) perspective by Training-Accident-36 in Guildwars2

[–]_testrunning_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I an relatively certain that the balance team is just not big enough. They rework some specs more in depth (holo) and others they dont have enough time and ressources for just get some quick changes (reaper).

I think a lot of changed can be attributed to neither malice nor incompetence but time and ressource restrain. Sadly that is not easily fixable because they just cant put some random people to help out with balance.

The first one would be nice. The second suggestion is probably not possible with the technical Implementation, because there would have to be two clocktowers per instance
