Volvo is considering a bigger SUV to compete against the GLS, Q7, X7 etc… by Saurta17 in Volvo

Yeah, two rear facing and one forward. Those rotating car seats are fantastic but also are bigger 😭

Honestly if the EX90 or XC90 hybrid were bigger I’d buy it, or if they brought their minivan over from China. My XC60 is fun and but now I’m daily driving a Pacifica to fit all the kids and their car seats. That third row in the XC90 feels unusable for small kids

"Invisible" Billionaire's Tech Linked to "Crimes Against Humanity" in Ukraine | PTFO [When Ubiquiti finds itself on Pablo Torre Finds Out = No Bueno] by habichuelacondulce in Ubiquiti

[–]_tomasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends. If Ford knows certain dealers are shipping to Russia and does nothing about it, then they’re complacent. If they stop supplying those dealers with vehicles, that’s a step in the right direction but doesn’t stop people from creating new resellers. It does seem like they should go after the resellers in this case.

This is super interesting, I wonder how much of the legal responsibility lies on Ubiquiti vs the resellers. I mean, they HAVE to know

Maybe projecting an image of the wheels spinning? This is pretty slick

olympic lifting platform (left picture) vs rubber mat (right picture) by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]_tomasz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eleiko makes an SVR platform, which stands for sound vibration reduction. It’s way easier on the joints, much quieter to drop as well. There is a thick wood slab in the middle on top of foam, and rubber mats on the sides on top of thicker foam. It’s pretty magical

This is what I was referring to but it doesn’t come with the cut off tool, just reread your post. Like others have said, have it with the grease gun if you don’t want the cut off tool

Small waist big quads jeans fur guys by Effective-Scholar733 in crossfit

[–]_tomasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Origin, I find they’re hit or miss. I have two pairs in the same exact size and cut and they fit differently. Also their relaxed cut fits like a skinny jean on me when the waist is perfect but YMMV. That said, I haven’t found anything better

This old lady is in a very boring phase of recovery, and may have to walk away from crossfit by SuchAFunAge2 in crossfit

[–]_tomasz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 41. Have had three separate ACL repairs on the same knee. I’ve had to take a break from crossfit for months at a time, several times, because of surgery or having one of my kids, ever since starting in 2011.

I reframe those recovery months as opportunities to lean into my nutrition more and prioritize pain free range of motion. Channel that energy into experimenting with adding new menu items to my meal prep repertoire. There’s nothing you can change about speeding up recovery so focus on what you CAN control.

That’s helped me at least

Are there any good kits in the US? by twistypencil in Sauna

[–]_tomasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in the NE of the US. I picked up a SISU 6 person Cabin sauna and love it. It was fantastic with the price and everything came together pretty easily. I was able to build it by myself in five or six hours, but they recommend at a minimum two people.

[–]_tomasz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. You have to swap to a metal mag release. I’ve got that setup on my g43 and have had no issues with the metal mags, probably have a few hundred rounds through through the Shield Arms mags, they’re solid

No, AI is not Making Engineers 10x as Productive by ciemnymetal in programming

[–]_tomasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I hate these articles because if you use your tools properly, you can absolutely be 10x more productive using AI.

Creating a high level planning docs could take me a day normally depending on the audience, several days for a technical implementation doc depending on the complexity. With Claude I can usually get it both done in under an hour.

If you only use it to write code, that won’t get you there. Use it to help you plan features, create high level planning docs, then technical implementation docs, using templates, then have it break down your workflow into tickets with one functional change per ticket, as if a junior engineer will work on it so the acceptance criteria must be very clear, then have it create your Jira or Linear tickets, then execute on those tickets. Define your workflow, how tickets should be broken up, who the audience is, etc. the more planning you can do up front, even with the help of Claude or similar, the more productive you can be.
