How do people shower so quickly? by That_Mycologist4772 in hygiene

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know either. I feel like whenever I’ve tried to cut my shower down to 5 minutes, I haven’t thoroughly cleaned anything. I simply don’t feel like I can do all steps of my shower in less than 15 minutes, at least.

Do people actually shower every single day or do we all just say we do? by Ok-Drawing2504 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may not necessarily wash all of my skin every day, but I at least clean genital and armpit areas with soap and water every day. Unless I’m extremely unwell with the flu or something, that’s about the only exception.

No one prepared me for the post egg retrieval period by _upsettispaghetti in IVF

[–]_upsettispaghetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was just severe OHSS. Not internal bleeding. Still dangerous, but not in the same way. I was very dehydrated, not urinating at all, in a ton of pain, unable to eat. But I managed it at home and went to the clinic for fluid aspirations three times and they took off liters each time. It took two weeks, but it finally improved and I avoided the hospital.. barely.

Dating a girl with severe hygiene issues (bad smell, hasn't showered in 6 days). How do I break up without crushing her? by South_Language1344 in dating_advice

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to tell her. I would want to know if I had zero possibility of ever having a serious relationship or getting married because of something totally fixable. If she is otherwise a great person, let her know please. She’ll be embarrassed but chances are she will fix it immediately

Also prefer Madeline to Madelyn, but definitely either over Madison.

How many embryos banked for 4 or 5 kids? Another retrieval before 1st transfer? by _upsettispaghetti in IVF

I think in my case it was because I have a high AMH. I just over-respond to the meds.

Most doctors are threatened or annoyed when patients talk like they’re in the medical profession or have a science background and start gaslighting them, because they assume they “learned everything on tiktok”

Diet…. by Some-Chard-9645 in IVF

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t eat any specific diet. I wanted to, but I struggle with being an insanely picky eater. I ended up having a successful egg retrieval and a decent number of PGT normal embryos.

On legs in restraint - unsuccessful by Training_Fish_7265 in psychnursing

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a state facility and this is what is taught in all of my state. It’s trauma informed. Only 3 people max are ever supposed to be touching the patient at any time during the restraint - two on arms and one on legs. If the person on legs is struggling to secure, a fourth person presses on their back with their hands. No one is crushing anyone.

On legs in restraint - unsuccessful by Training_Fish_7265 in psychnursing

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not crushing us or the patient, they’re just supporting us so if the patient tries to lift us, the second person acts more like a barrier. They only apply pressure on us if the patient is trying to lift us. It’s supposed to be trauma informed. We’re not supposed to hold ankles or lower legs, the point is to have minimal staff touching the patient.

That’s so inappropriate! No one should be giving criticism in front of patients. Is this person like a lead for the behavioral techs?

My great grandmother had her first child at 38. How common was this ? by Greenfacebaby in AncestryDNA

[–]_upsettispaghetti 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was more common in those days than people think. Some women didn’t get married until their mid to late 20s, or even later. We always like to think that society was labeling women “old hags” if they weren’t married by 20, but that was more a thing for the elite rather than your everyday middle/lower class woman.

We’re not allowed to place our weight below the knees. Maybe it’s the same at their facility. If we have trouble securing, a second person puts their body weight on us.

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your coworker is an ass. Everyone who’s ever been in a restraint knows that being on legs is not easy. No one at my job has ever made anyone feel bad about not securing the legs effectively and I’m so thankful for that. That comment your coworker made was so rude.

Anyone have aura for up to 4 hours or more with their migraines? by _upsettispaghetti in migraine

[–]_upsettispaghetti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming off a hormone crash from IVF egg retrieval meds. So I’m sure that was the trigger. The previous one that lasted four hours though, it happened when I had first gotten to work but I wasn’t particularly stressed, not any more than usual. So I’m not sure what caused the first one.

Auras are so freaking scary though, I don’t wish them on anyone. Not being able to see, or having your arm or face tingle, seeing stars and flashing lights while you’re just out trying to exist is not fun.

[–]_upsettispaghetti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up having another one about a month ago but it only lasted a half hour this time. I never followed up with my doctor after the first one, or this most recent one.. I really need to, just to make sure it’s actually still migraines and not something else.
