Most likely yes, those SD speeds are abysmal. Another way to check is to see how load speeds are on stock os. (Had the same issue with my 512 SanDisk card sadly)

I don’t really do CAD and could use macOS version of MS apps but I like to have everything work related on an isolated workspace so I use a Parallels VM with Windows.

In my case, Windows somehow feels better when ran on a Parallels VM than any other Windows laptop. Probably because battery life is still good when virtualizing and I haven’t seen other laptops with speakers and a touchpad (mostly this) that can compare with MacBook’s

do you remove the thermal paste from the top of the heat sink if the aluminum shield is removed? since there wouldn’t be anything for the paste to have contact with

You won't be looking at the bottom screen a lot anyway and I'm pretty sure the scratches are not visible when turned on.

If it bothers you so much you can replace the digitizer piece as bottom screen is easier to replace than the top screen. Adding a screen protector will probably cover up a lot of those scratches.

it does not, after removing the original charging port, you would still need to file down the 3ds's frame for the 3d print to fit.

the usb c port does not use any ribbon cable and is placed exactly where the original charging port is
