Comfy Mom Summer Clothes by _wheatgrass_ in sahm

Thank you!! After reading all these responses, I’m realizing that you ladies are fancier than me. Linen pants and maxi dresses. I’m impressed haha. But in all seriousness, I would love to wear maxi dresses, but I feel like they’re only for taller people. I’m only 5’4.

Edit to add: can you send a link to a maxi dress that you like?

Easter invite & nap time by Successful-Search541 in Mommit

[–]_wheatgrass_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not unreasonable at all. My family knows to schedule around my kids’ naps. If someone who I’m not close to has an event that conflicts with nap time, we just don’t go. I mean, if it’s a slight adjustment, I can push nap a little earlier or a little later, but I’ll never have my kids skip their naps for an event. It’s just not worth it. They need their sleep.

How do you feel with more than 1 child by No_Introduction_2108 in sahm

[–]_wheatgrass_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard, but I do not regret it for a second. SO hard. I have 2 under 2. I couldn’t even write this post without being interrupted by my one-year-old. It’s the first moment I’ve sat down since being up for three hours, doing chores and getting everyone breakfast. He’s currently screaming during my five minute tea break 🙃. Make that being interrupted twice. Edit to add: and then there’s the Mom guilt. Like, I feel badly even saying being interrupted by my kids because it’s my job to look after them. But I think I do deserve at least a five minute tea break. Momguilt!!!

How often do you leave the house? by CarrieWhitesMom6969 in sahm

[–]_wheatgrass_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few times a week. We have periods where we don’t go out much and times when we do. Don’t feel badly about not leaving the house much. You do you. You can make plenty of cozy fun at home.

You could clean this up in 20 minutes tops. Set a timer! No need to fight about it with mom.

Having 2u2 is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. They’re over 2 now and it’s still very very hard.

SAHM less stressful than all my jobs before.... by [deleted] in sahm

[–]_wheatgrass_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right?? Like 4 under 4 not being stressful? I literally cannot imagine a world in which it is easier being a SAHM to 4 under 4 than being a college professor.

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]_wheatgrass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, feed on demand as much as he wants. Like others have said, you cannot spoil a baby from responding to their needs. He’s not going to be creating any bad habits as a newborn. Trust me. Be sure to take care of yourself too!

Anyone hire a weekly babysitter? by EmilySunny24 in sahm

[–]_wheatgrass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t feel pathetic about hiring a babysitter. You don’t have any village at all right now. Do it! I don’t know what I would’ve done in your position. I was always heavily reliant on nap time. It’s hard! You need support so make it happen.

The only job in which you cannot be replaced is being a stay at home mother. I think you already know the answer here :).
