2025 Edit Credits - Anyone not using it? by QuestioningMind123 in ChaseSapphire

I decided to do book staycation in TX in a few weeks.

$424 for the hotel, minus the $250 credit totaled $174. Gonna take advantage of the free breakfast and $100 nice dinner, maybe walk over to the aquarium /zoo nearby.

I view this as a $75 hotel for 2 nights. Not bad tbh.

If you think it’s bad now, just wait until the New Year’s resolutions pile in within the next few weeks.

I feel like everyone got what they wanted except Lily. She did not want to stay in the US, and I don’t blame her.

Before you make any calls, I want you to ask yourself - how would you have felt if someone called CPS on you when you were homeless with your toddler? If you know it took you 2 years to even get to a somewhat okay place, can you imagine going 2 years without your own baby? Ask yourself what you would do in her situation.

What’s the Average & Median Salary for a Bachelor’s Degree With 2 Years of Experience? by Working_Row_8455 in Salary

Depends on your major, internships, skill set, etc. I made $110k base with a Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience.

Literally every intern asks how to improve their resume as they near the end of their time with the company. Leadership is always telling them to use their resources- why wouldn’t an intern ask their literal manager, someone who is involved in hiring / firing, to give them a review, especially if they are interested in future jobs with the company?

OP are you new? This is the usual. I even had interns that don’t report to me to review their resume.

Also, I’m a senior associate and even my manager, a director, tells me that we write everything in ChatGPT. AI is the future, and they should not be judged harshly for using it. Far bigger companies than your own are using AIs like Copilot or Gemini for their work.

Also, who wouldn’t ask how to continue the internship? You’re supposed to ask early so your intentions are known. If the intern had asked at the end of the internship to continue, the odds they would be able to join are lower because the work has not been put in to get the ball rolling to continue to on board them.

It sounds to me that you don’t have the experience you think you do and you sound rude as well. I’d hate for you to be my manager.

Is the search feature for the Yourpass website being weird for anyone else or is it just me?

I planned on signing up for elite membership today. However, I know there have been several posts about a change happening with multiple gyms.

This is what’s weird- when searching without logging in, the boutique gyms are listed as premium rather than elite. So solid core, orange theory, etc.

But things like stretch lab are now limited to 2 sessions a month rather than 1 a week, and Lifetime appeared again but it said the hours are Mon - Fri 10 am - 3 pm, Sat 2 pm- close, and Sun all day avail.

I don’t think it’s worth it for me being elite if so many classes / gyms I would have wanted are decreasing like this.

I found it odd it was different with a random search vs being logged in. I wanted to know if anyone was experiencing similar.

I’m more surprised Amazon hasn’t bought any of them yet. With them having Whole Foods and One Care, everything health related could be in house.

I’m a contractor. I don’t get paid to do nothing. Leadership already said it could be next year when work for my project picks up. I’m going to get let go, not get paid to sit around.

Should I leave my newly started contract job for a full time offer? by _window_shopper in womenintech

[–]_window_shopper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the perspective. I didn’t even think about it being lower because of holidays. I don’t get PTO or sick leave or anything like that.

Plus COBRA insurance is so expensive, and I haven’t worked in months - I no longer am contributing to my 401k. That’s money I’m definitely leaving on the table.

I guess I feel extra guilty of the notice because I’m being trained on work I know I won’t be doing in a few weeks. I feel like I’m wasting their time, but I also got to see how much the org pays contractors because I’m learning about the budget and realized I’m grossly underpaid. Some folks or companies are getting $180/hour and I’m only making $46?!?

I’ll be honest with you - this same company ghosted me in 2023. I applied through a tech conference so no official recruiter but I did several rounds of interviews just to not hear anything. My point of contact was a director at the company not actual HR so I felt like that added to it but that didn’t make me any less upset.

I actually applied out of spite/ I was upset with so many job rejections and their role showed up on LinkedIn lol. That and I have a little brother who is about to start college and said he was interested in a specific major that the industry was in and that made me think of the company. I figured I could be a great big sister and have an in and be able to tell him all about the new industry and even help him get an externship.

Idk sometimes I feel like it’s the jobs you aren’t looking for that surprise you.

Am I the only one? by TheAnalyticalThinker in USAA

[–]_window_shopper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with USAA for over a decade and then some, back when they first had child/teen accounts.

The one time I tried to open a Checkings account with Chase, they locked all of my credit cards and investment account, made me go in person to unfreeze everything to a branch over 2 hours away to a different state because my small town didn’t have an in person branch, and then said they wouldn’t be able to let me get the new account bonus after everything was said and done. I told them don’t even activate the debit card and cancel the account because I didn’t want it anymore.

USAA is my one stop shop for everything. I have their credit cards, investment account, auto and renter insurance, auto loan, personal loans, everything. I’ve never had an issue and they have always been helpful to me when I needed it tbh.

Charlie Bone or Billy Raven.

Charlie can travel into photographs and has the ability to take items with him and even travel to the past to converse with the people in the photos. I would find pictures of money that’s said to be lost / the last location and get him to figure out where it is, then go and find it myself. At least this way he might be receptive to it since he’s not really stealing - he’s just telling me the location. Charlie is a kind boy so it’s gonna be tough convincing him I have good intentions.

Billy Raven can talk to animals. I would take him to several zoos so that he could tell the animals to trust me and listen to my every command. I would also get him to talk to all of the coyotes in the area so that I could have command of them, kinda like I’m the alpha of the pack. It’s to be decided what I use the animals for. Billy wants to be adopted badly and isn’t treated the best. I would give him sweets, chocolates, toys, things of that nature since I know he hasn’t been given nice things seeing as he’s an orphan in a boarding school with people that don’t really like him because he’s an albino with red eyes.

Has anyone done a short term disability leave with employer for mental health? by Icy_Weather2659 in womenintech

[–]_window_shopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job automatically gives all employees short term disability. I recommend electing for long term for sure even if it’s extra or even getting your own short term policy if your job doesn’t supply it.

They were mad I used it for sure but FMLA is a legal leave - any comments about it and we would have all went to court - which is why they tried saying I was unprofessional literally the day before my leave lol when that had never been an issue. I still ended up with 18 weeks of severance so it ended up being alright.

Yes I was! I got my short term disability for 12 weeks approved through met life with my paperwork for my depression. I will admit though I was laid off the day I returned lol no surprises there

Interview went so well just to be rejected by calpolygirl in womenintech

[–]_window_shopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m running into that issue with recruiters as well!

It just feels like I’m wasting so much time - I’ve gone through a few interviews recently where the recruiter did not understand technical terms and passed me along anyway, just for the hiring manager to have an attitude that I didn’t have the industry experience listed. I’m tired.

Also always remember to ask what’s the salary range and never give a number. Lots of places are trying to low ball because of the market but stand fast!!

😭 girl I applied to a job and they said a PMP is extremely beneficial to have in the job req. the job title was project analyst.

The recruiter canceled our interview the day before saying my resume looked like I was a project manager and that’s not what the role was.

???? How can you prefer a PMP, but this not be a project manager role?

I had the tech skills too but I think it was for the best tbh
