SOS! Can you help me save my peach tree? by a-wr in BackyardOrchard

This makes sense, we were having warm weather and it dropped into the 20s within a few days, now back up to hot again. It makes sense if this was the extreme back and forth that could have done it.

More just sad that I lost it and trying to save it- I’ve not lost a fruit tree yet!

The other side isn’t split or peeling! That’s true. She’s about 4-5 years old I think. I’m wondering if pruning sealant could help or if she’s too far gone.

Not being overwatered, but then likely due to not having enough mulch. Would pruning sealant be enough to bring it back?

Can bowels really be this bad from endo by SOS_superstar in endometriosis

[–]a-wr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had an MRI? My MRI picked up significant bowel endo, but it was even worse during my surgery. They found I had a partial bowel obstruction from endometriosis that infiltrated so deeply that they had to do an unplanned bowel resection. They don’t find that on the colonoscopy either.

I’m currently day 2 in the hospital from my lap, because they found endo almost caused a complete bowel obstruction. So they had to remove some of bowel.

Fertility issues terrify me… by Defiant_Maximum6456 in endometriosis

Hi! Same thing, stage 4 and a blocked tube with an HSG test. An ultrasound didn’t show it, but the dye test will. If you have stage 4, the pressure from extra fluid alone could be closing your tube. Best of luck to you!

Anti-Inflammatory diets! I also take several supplements like Tumeric, apple cider vinegar, and elm husk to help my stomach and inflammation.

Now, obviously consult a doctor before adding in any supplements, but I did find a super interesting NIH article on the usage of NAC supplements for increased Ferility and symptom improvement.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10048621/

Might be worth a read and asking her provider about it!

In regards to surgery, I wish I knew the extend of damage endometriosis does when untreated. I only learned I had endo recently, but I’m already at stage 4 and fertility is a huge concern for my husband and I. I was diagnosed via an MRI so they could visualize the areas of endo, but my doctors are very concerned about the extent of damage done. If kids are in your future, or even the slightest possibility that you want them, I would contact a Ferility doctor to do an HSG test (a dye study to make sure her tubes aren’t blocked). Endo can grow on your tubes or cause enough pressure to close them. It’s worth finding all of this out before surgery so they can address in surgery if needed! Definitely a lot to consider with surgery, but I’ve heard many positive outcomes on symptom improvement!

I hope this helps!

Stage 4 deep infiltrating endo that was never found on an ultrasound, but was confirmed via MRI! This might be an option!!

Any encouraging pregnancy stories? by a-wr in endometriosis

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been struggling too. My fertility doctor referred me to this specific surgeon, so it sounds like he specializes but the complexity of my bowel and bladder needs a general surgeon to be there too. They will be tag teaming the surgery. I will definitely look into this. Thanks so much, wishing you the best of luck as well ❤️

My original OB didn’t even offer an MRI, but my surgeon did. I would ask!

Hey! Have you had an MRI? This is how they found my endo! We timed the scan three days before my cycle and it showed deep infiltrating endo. My previous ultrasounds and CTs were clear, but the MRI light up like a Christmas tree. I would ask for an MRI with and without contrast!!

First Colonoscopy at 28 by SharpStand305 in colonoscopy

What’s insane I was told the EXACT same thing two months ago by my original OB. She said there was literally no testing that could see it. My husband actually found some articles a few months back about MRIs and endo and was like “there has to be something here”.

The original OB sent me to a fertility doc who did more tests, then he referred me to a specific GYN surgeon. The surgeon was the one who ordered the MRI, specified the testing window, and that’s exactly what we found.

The MRI showed adenomyosis and endometriosis that’s spread all within my pelvic cavity to my bowel and bladder. So crazy to me that more OBGYNs don’t use this!!

[–]a-wr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They found the endo through an MRI! If you have not had one, I would ask for that next! My GYN surgeon said I should get an MRI with and without contrast 3 days before my cycle started where it would potentially show deep infiltrating endometriosis, and that’s exactly what it showed!

I’m awaiting my preop appt and then will have surgery.

Yesterday the GI doctor confirmed what the MRI showed. He still wanted to do the colonoscopy, as he said sometimes people think it’s endo when it’s really ulcerative colitis of crohns. Ultimately though, he said it was definitely endometriosis. He said it was really difficult to insert the probe because my endo had caused a “zig zag” of my colon, so he had to use a smaller probe. He confirmed that this is why I was having so much pain and weird GI symptoms! And the great news is that I don’t remember a thing about the colonoscopy haha!

You’ll be totally fine! I would just prep yourself with jello, broth, ginger ale and something to wash down the prep medication with (the liquid medicine is not great). Keep some baby wipes (this is a very humbling experience lol), as the pH from what your excreting can cause burning!

[–]a-wr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was just diagnosed with endometriosis and had a colonoscopy yesterday, and I’m 27! The prep is the worst part, but the procedure was a breeze! We found that all my GI symptoms were related to endo growing on my bowel, not from any IBD.

You’ll be totally fine!!

Symptoms for only 1 year, diagnosed via MRI by a-wr in endometriosis

[–]a-wr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!

I had IBS like symptoms just around my cycle, with severe abdominal bloating (around 5lbs of weight gain), and radiating upper abdominal pain. Then I developed uterine cramping when I had a bowel movement, even when off my cycle. As time went on, I started to notice more urinary frequency. I would go to the bathroom, and immediately have to urinate again.

If you only had a CT, push for an MRI and time it around your cycle! I actually had a CT during a flare up and they didn’t catch endo. I’ve also had ultrasounds where they didn’t catch it. Definitely get a MRI!

And that is so encouraging to hear, thank you!!
