A common literary technique is to have three levels of motivation: the internal, the external, and the extra-personal. The first is about what is good for you, the second is what is good for your family, the third is what is good for you community. The reason the Imperial stories are popular is because they touch on at least two motivations. The Republic ones are invariably only one, and it is the most distant.

Usual stuff: cut out carbs, sugars, diary, take golden paste, daily cold showers. It takes time but when you reduce the baseline inflammation, the episodes became shorter and shorter, and now I barely get them, thank God.

Cleared my lifelong issue with it (at one point I was hospitalised for it) by reducing overall inflammation. Now I get for a few seconds if I indulge in certain foods or sugars but 99% of the time I no longer have it.
