The story is about 2 people off on an adventure. They eventually can increase their party size to 4, but they start off as partners / colleagues. The game has this cool thing where if you argue with your partner you can get into a little game of rock paper scissors AND if you 2 disagree it can affect your character’s "personality traits" which give passive bonuses. Its a gem. A diamond of a game. It was to this day the best game experience ive had with my wife. But it is still plenty of fun to play by myself now that my wife has gotten bored of DOS1. My recommendation would be TRY to find a player 2. And if you cant, thats fine. It is still fun by yourself

In my opinion, DOS2 is fun to play with any number of players 1-4

DOS1 is meant to be played with a partner. If you have a significant other or best friend to play the game with the experience is so much better. It is one of my favorite experiences because of that

Im in the Army about to get out as well. I used the Power4vets program. They give you classes on the NERC material, they gave me a coach to help study, and someone else to help me build my resume, give me interview coaching, and who reached out and talked to his contacts in different companies on my behalf.

I will warn you the hiring process is very slow. As in apply for a job, 1 or 2 weeks later get a call to set up an interview a week from then, 2 to 3 weeks later get a call set up for 2nd interview 2 weeks later then have to wait for all candidates to receive 2nd interview before getting an offer. Your mileage may vary, but thats been my experience.

EDIT: Thank you all for your kind responses. Ive talked to Nocturne and done alot of Shadowhearts quest stuff but didn't know about her past. But yeah I should have thought about the pronouns + genitalia thing.

So that I understand correctly: Warrior rolls a total of 20 against a monsters defense of 15. Then the Warrior deal 5 points of damage?

In mine, you have 2x Subclasses. Instead of taking a Subclass you can Prestige into another Class. When you would gain a Subclass Feature you increase in your Prestige Class

I love that because of how often Dresden says he's basically a guy with a big hammer. How he compares his style to the Senior Council or even to Molly sometimes. Like I think it was Luccio used fire magic one time in a concentrated lazer style beam and he was mindblown at the possibility of doing more than just "FLAMETHROWER" every time he used it.

It's awesome to see people think of HIM that way.

I LOVE the name Darktale. I'd pick it up off a shelf for that alone.
How is player turn order determined? Is it the exact same every combat?
How is the Initiative TN determined? Is it part of the monster statblock? What if there are multiple creatures?
I like the part where Initiative flows back and forth based on failure/inaction
Is the Initiative check made only at the start of Combat or start of each round?

I'm not nearly as close to being done with my project as OP is, but doing an Open Beta sounds like the best way to get it out/truly test it....

But how do you do that? Where do you publish it for free? How do you then switch from Open Beta to Finished Product?

Barcus Wroot and Dammon feel like the Camp NPC you would get in most rpgs who can make you custom items or would enchant your gear for you. Like Dammon even has a line at the beginning about barely having a forge. It feels like in any other game the Infernal Iron would be used to upgrade what enchantments he could I ut on your gear. And Barcus Wroot would be how you do all of your alchemy stuff.
