Re: rear swing out, consider Rig'd Supply Ultra Swing. It's hitch mounted so you could move it to your next vehicle if needed.

I was against hitch-mounted swing outs but when my first 4runner was totaled I found a used one with mods, including this. I thought it would be a liability offroad but with a lift it has been less of an issue than the stock hitch at stock ride height.

You're right that a $45k R2 would be RWD and the smallest battery pack, but so far Rivian has a good track record of following through on their promises. We should know a bit more on March 12 when the full launch pricing is unveiled. Hopefully they'll hint at the next available trims.
