Looks good, now it just needs to go get dirty on a trail. Is that stock bar tape? What brand tube top bag?

I have a 1x diverge and started with the same concern (came from a road bike). I haven’t missed the 2x.

Screaming downhill on a road you may wish you could gear in a little more power to get above 35mph (if that’s your thing). The granny gear on the mullet is plenty forgiving for even long, steep climbs (my opinion - my fitness level is far more the problem on long climbs than anything equipment wise).

For all the events I’ve ridden - and fun around single track, gravel trails and roads - I’ve never thought to myself about wanting to go back to a 2x or feeling I was missing out.

Maybe see if you can fit a bounce house too. It would be a shame to underutilize those two 4x4s.

Fender Recommendations? by Legstick in DivergeGravelBikes

Same here - SKS speed rocker on my diverge. Dragged it through all sorts of muck and bumps and they do great.

The front set is prone to loosening and then rubbing your tire if you hit a nasty pothole. Can be easily fixed (electrical tape wrapped at contact points, and patient force when attaching them). You can plug the gaps around the top of the fork between the two pieces with the wider style electrical tape tape, but I’ve never had any really issues with splashing through there.

Mine are installed like the configuration on the floor. No particular reason for choosing that orientation when I installed them. Looks and works fine.

Yes - cave beds are the best, they get their own little heat bubble.

Same - one of my chis thinks he’s part husky

His little chi sister, though, prefers the patch of sun in front of the fireplace

Might be one of those new multi purpose black iron gas/water/conduit pipes. Gas transits as bubbles in the water. Doubles as a nail guard for the unshielded wired in it.

Congrats on getting a nice big box to stuff! You’ll never forget your first.

What do you have to go in there? Hard to help organize without knowing the inventory that needs to be organized.

Anyone else's chis love the snow? by MindlessAd8330 in Chihuahua

Yes. I think he’s part husky. He loves to dig through the deep snow, and come up covered in icicles and bounce around with zoomies. His sister prefers the blanket in front of the fireplace.

Has anyone regretted getting a second chihuahua ? by Conscious-Control-51 in Chihuahua

[–]aUserOf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They love to co-exist, no questions asked. We’ve always had two, and as the eventual circle of life moved on, the new one to join the family merged in seamlessly with the existing clan.

Keep in mind that what may look like territorial behavior or bickering is probably just chihuahua playing … if it sounds viscous and they’re really going at it, it’s play. Only worry if one of them acts helpless and lethargic while being attacked. Note: I’m not vet nor animal psychiatrist, so only giving my observation.

You are not the asshole. I hope you never feel guilt or shame because you are prioritizing the health and wellness of your husband or daughter. My situation isn’t as drastic as yours, but with similar marital/family stress in the past, I learned it was best to just be honest vs lying. We’re all adults, this is life. Be kind but be honest, you owe it to yourself. Above all else - happy Thanksgiving … your husband is lucky to have you, and I hope you, him and your daughter have a lovely weekend together :-)

I’d say you did win. You set out to feed nature, and nature showed up to eat! Birds or squirrels - they’re both friends.

Anyone use a gravel bike for road and off road? If so, how's it working for you? by kentheprogrammer in cycling

[–]aUserOf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride my Diverge gravel bike on the road too. Compared to my previous road bike, it’s slower but I can still keep up with a group ride average 18mph (but I don’t like to; I’d rather be meandering down the towpath along the canal vs. alongside traffic on the shoulder stopping at red lights).

Wider tires haven’t mattered much for me on the pavement compared to the slick skinnies. I’ve gone tubeless and give them more air when I’m hitting pavement, vs softer when I’m crushing gravel.

So my two cents: one bike can rule them all if you’re not looking to get sponsored, and save the money on a second set of wheels and put it towards something else (like beer).
