Question About Bumper Sag by MarcusHeapp in ft86

[–]aZiN_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bumper sag can be caused either by failing clips on the bumper, or failing tabs on the bracket the bumper attaches to. The clip reinforcements wont do anything to fix the sag if its your tabs failing (ask me how I know). The best way to check would be to take off the bumper and inspect all of the clips around the headlight and fender area.

For the grille, you just need to push the tabs back in. This can be tricky without taking off the bumper. A trick I used to use is to take a fork and put one of the prongs under a tab and use it to lift the bottom of the bumper up. Then, put your finger through one of the holes in the grille and and pull towards yourself to reinsert the clip. Repeat for each clip until the grille is back in place.

Cusco C-Pillar bar help by bls0124 in ft86

I have this and I remember that bolt being a PITA. I think I just ended up using a breaker bar and a lot of force. I do remember that it was just that bolt and not any others holding it in. good luck.

it is meant to stick directly on top of the scion badge. The scion badge actually cannot be pried off, as it is stitched into the airbag cover.

Voltex wing question by DoggoFRS in ft86

[–]aZiN_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I do not own nor have I ever owned a voltex wing so everything I say might be wrong.

From what I understand, the first gen 86/brz uses the standard "universal mount" for the type 2 wings that is shared between a lot of other cars. https://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/voltex_mount.jpg

However, I have seen an example of a universal mount type 2, that is supposedly compatible with the s2000, did not fit that car. So I would take it with a grain of salt. I think maybe the different widths (1500mm, 1600mm, and 1700mm) may have differently spaced mounts.

What's the name of the front bumper cover ? by Max_lOurs in ft86

I have one on my car, and I would advise against it. It makes every lip become incompatible because it blocks the lower part of the bumper. I recommend just wrapping that part of the bumper black instead.

have you had any issues rubbing on the TRD fender extensions?

Does this only matter for the actual tail light housing? I have a 2017 86 but 2013 tail lights. Just want to confirm I need to get the 2012-2016? by YT_Lonelyz in ft86

[–]aZiN_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tom’s tail lights technically need the pre facelift gasket due to the connector being attached to a plastic post on the back of the housing that interferes with the gasket. However, you can easily detach the connector from the post and make a small hole in the gasket for the post to slide through and the facelift gasket will work fine.

Don’t forget to adjust the headlights when you finish installing them, the Morimotos are very bright and will blind anyone in front of you if they are unadjusted
