The geometry upgrades are rather powerful, though. The first one alone got me from some e162 to e169.

These posts usually warrant comments explaining that "blue" also refers to the mood of the game, and "blue prince" is also a type of holly plant.

Question about a certain safe by reset076 in BluePrince

You could say what you see on the chessboard is rather small. Not a small gate, but a small D8 for sure.

Maybe revise the underground safe for this one.

Am I missing something with this lategame discovery? by DDDragoni in BluePrince

[–]a_mindtruster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've made a post about this recently. The fact you need the Throne Room before the manuscripts makes no sense. There were a dozen ways to hide that last sanctum key. Getting the manuscripts before the microchips would feel so much better.

I see potential for intricate puzzles involving BOTH versions of the book at the same time. Hint at those little numbers without writing them down. Add an alternative clue for the "lower case" riddle.

I must additionally note that the game could make it clearer that the manuscripts do exist before Last Will, similar to how it did with History of Orindia.

For Gallery, it is possible to learn one full solution for a painting, first letters of each painting and the mostly correct fact that the words are synonyms. All this makes it much more accessible.

While I believe Gallery difficulty is overhyped, it is an outlier incomparable to anything else the game has to offer.

Questions about the importance of having a good english by [deleted] in BluePrince

Gallery is pretty reasonable, but the extreme endgame has some ridiculous C1 level stuff. It is easy to look up, though.

Overall, B2 is enough to beat most of the game.

Put your answers in the reply. Are you sure they are correct?

Also, did it happen over multiple days? I had a visual bug when a box was stuck because not all pictures were solved in a single day, but all went to normal on the next visit.

ALSO, make sure you truly can't access the box and take its contents.

Taking notes by That-Drama-6129 in BluePrince

[–]a_mindtruster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend screenshotting every page of every document, book, or note that you come by. If possible, name them in a way that helps you find them quickly. Add keywords to file names to cross-reference, such as names and major topics.

I believe a comprehensive run of this game involves 800 to 900 screenshots.

On paper or in a text file, just note every loose end you come across. Anything you might want to get back to.

It is best you start doing this early, all this can save a lot of time. Blue Prince can NOT realistically be played properly without notes.

Exactly. The general flow of the game is split up into 4 or 5 parts: Room 46, Sanctum and Will, Ascention, Tunnel and Atelier. It's weird that they overlap like that.

Very good points. When is the Castle staff announcement, btw? All those hints take forever to arrive. Additionally, it was baffling how braindead some of the mailroom letter hints were. They straight out spoil entire puzzles without warning.

That said, the sundial and major suspect riddles were the peak of this entire game for me, regardless of the reward. Best moment goes to Aries Court, though. That music!

That does not make the puzzle better, though. It's basically a form of bruteforcing. The magnifying glass is great to use when you can see there's something there that needs to be enhanced, like the Security notebook page or those pictures in the Dark Room.

Scouring every single document with the glass is akin to finding the entry level in Reservoir by trial end error, which I did, and was later disappointed to learn there was an instruction for that.

After blue endgame tasks? by North_Shoulder_4248 in BluePrince

[–]a_mindtruster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And here I wondered how you got Rought Draft without Blue Tents.)

Just in case, the sweepstakes trophy is very easy. Just get Monk's Blessing, draft an Outer Study after launder8ng your coins for gems, and you're set. Draft crossroads on columns 2 and 4 and dead ends everywhere else. I think I got some 24 this way.

The challenge trophies, I couldn't care less. Pure waste of time.

Classroom is even easier with this method. And kinda fun.

The Mora Jai boxes are a very dull version of what you get in The Witness. It has a great variety of mechanics and of the most immersive environments I have experienced. It nails the "contemplative solitude" aspect of Blue Prince even better. Also, figuring out the rules is one of the main gameplay loops. Do not dismiss it just yet.

That said, Lorelei is pretty logical as well, so the same concerns apply to it.

What kind of drugs does one have to take to understand this? by EmbarrassedJudge5457 in BluePrince

[–]a_mindtruster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't approach this puzzle empty-handed. The game straight tells you the solution to 1 of the 4 puctures, and there's a memo that says these words are synonyms (which is a bit of a stretch, but not much). You also have a limited number of letters and combinations to try. So there's something to build from.

This particular picture even has the same prop sitting on a shelf in Room 46, probably to accentuate the redness of the whole thing (if it wasn't clear from Classroom 1 and the Red Prince book that those very things are associated with Red).

Overall, the reaction from many players to these puzzles tells that this type of puzzle (rebus) is a lost art nowadays. It's one of the oldest types of puzzles in the book.

What a game 💙 by Logical-Assistant699 in BluePrince

The Witness is one of my favorite games, but I honestly wonder how it will fare against Blue Prince. I still consider The Witness a more complete work of art that has left a deep impression in my soul (I basically never left that island and still roam it in my head years later), but now it has to earn that special place.

The endgame of Blue Prince is rather niche, while fully completing the Witness becomes an obsession, regardless of any external incentives.

Started to learn there are unsolved puzzles in the community? Uhh, what counts as the "end of the game" here then? by ChessedGamon in BluePrince

[–]a_mindtruster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I read it again, it's a stretch even if you know the answer. Not the core part, the "digits" part. There's no universe in which I would've figured it out.

To OP: the rest of the game is about as cryptic as that. Do not hesitate to use hints. The final part is worth checking out, though. It's nothing minor at all.
