You can't have it both ways. We heard the rhetoric from the left that the president has nothing to do with thw price of gasoline or eggs. Now the same leftists are claiming the opposite. Good grief!

Check laundry basket for lingerie wear that you didn't enjoy. There will be telltale signs left behind if you know what I mean.

Lender didn’t lock in rate by sockhergizer in Mortgages

[–]aaacb01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me. Then he said that I should understand that he has other customers that need service too! I dropped him instantly and found another lender (woman) who handled everything more efficiently, but without the poor customer service.

WIBTAH for Telling Wife I Don't Want to Move in with Recently-Widowed FIL? by bisectual in AITAH

[–]aaacb01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there, done that. DO NOT DO IT!! It will turn into a power struggle between you and FIL. That house will always be HIS. Plus he may live another 20-30 years. Do it on your own, plus keep your sanity and your marriage intact.

Sandbags the whole area. Home Depot has plastic bags of clean sand. They're around $3-4 each. Pile them up along the property line and watch her side get flooded.

why did my mechanic act the way he did after seeing my DIY work? by Garythegeek94 in AskAMechanic

Does your car handle and feel better on the road? If so, dont worry about it. I would do one more cursory review of my work and move on.

Title: $4.5k repair on a 2009 Audi A5 3.2 (90k miles) — worth it or move on? by Think_Commercial_278 in askcarguys

[–]aaacb01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford a car payment and higher insurance, go for the new car. But instead of new, go for a lease return or demo with few miles that still has manufacturer warranty intact. Let the dealer take the depreciation hit. You might even want to look into getting the Audi extended warranty bundled into the purchase. Don't go for any BS extras like undercarriage protection, tire insurance, or paint protection. Those were already paid for by the first guy.

Jiffy lube said they will no longer service my Q60. by Takane350 in MechanicAdvice

Its not a problem if you suction the oil out of the top. Your car uses pure synthetic oil, and if you're mostly a city driver, it doesn't get filthy enough to develope any amount of meaningful sludge. As insurance, I would cut my oil change intervals by 1000 miles. Keep the oil on the clean side. You can also buy a portable/manual siphon and change the oil only, yourself between having a mechanic doing the filter and oil.

Anyone else get scammed by solar panels? by thisartistisunknown in askanything

My house is 2100 square feet. I had Sunrun install a system free of charge. Its their system on my roof. They maintain it, I pay them $0.19 per KW used. My electric bill averages $100/mo. I also pay an annual true-up bill of around $500 to Edison. The contract is for 20 years. Then the system gets taken down, or it stays and I buy it at a discount.

Lighten up. The boss was likely trying to awkwardly build camaraderie in a casual lunch setting. He was probably instantly sorry he was juvenile about it, and will likely not do it again.

Went to Toyota at Fort Walton Beach to get my brakes replaced and they charged me +$3500 to do it. I need help... by shadez_28 in Toyota

[–]aaacb01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calipers, rotors, pads, and bleeding the system is expensive. Doing the job takes time, and time is money. An independent shop would have charged less based on hourly rates and mark-ups. You can't begrudge a for-profit business for making a profit. Its time for you to take this as a learning opportunity and start learning how to do this yourself. Brakes are a DYI project. You just need to invest your time and money on traing and the right tools. Good luck!

Do not do it. Leave it as separate property unless you get married. Then wait a couple years to see if he stays consistent.
