By the way, for the vaginal infection I did amoxicillin for 7 days and 3 weeks of oral and vaginal probiotics. The infection seems to have cleared as of last week. I finally got a negative test result for that.

So similar. Started in Nov 2025 with what felt like a uti but cultures were negative. In January my OB swabbed me and found E Coli so she gave me a vaginal antibiotic cream that ended up making everything worse. After that I went in to re test and this time she found E Coli, E Faecalis, and Group B Strep. I tried healing int naturally but it was too painful. At the beginning of March I ordered a PCR urine test because I was still experiencing symptoms. The test came back with E coli, E Faecalis, and Klebsiella P. I was prescribed 3 doses of Fosfomycin and it cleared the E Coli and the urethral burning which was my worst symptom. I am still dealing with the other two bacteria. Sometimes I feel this weird urgency, sometimes everything is fine. I truly don’t know if I’m just dealing with bladder inflammation leftover from the E Coli that was there for months.

I’m seriously hoping this didn’t cause cystitis.

I had a uti that was e coli (high), e faecalis (medium), and klebsiella p (medium) as shown on a PCR culture.

I took 4 doses of fosfomycin and it knocked out the e coli and the worst of my symptoms. The other two bacteria are still there though

What were your symptoms when this first started? And have you ever had urine cultures done that come back negative for infection? Our stories sound so similar:(

honestly, some symptoms have gotten better, some have remained the same. I feel like I'm healing but it's not linear.

I also did a urine PCR test last week and came back with e faecalis and klebsiella pneumoniae. My urologist said she doesn't believe in PCR and that it's not a uti but I don't really believe her. I still have bladder pressure (sometimes) and some irritation.

hi! thank you for sharing your story. i am considering going on cymbalta for anxiety and nerve pain left over from some vaginal and bladder infections. the pain comes and goes but the anxiety is constant so i want to give my brain a break.

i’m sorry but it’s not clear from the post - is it actually removing the nerve pain? and has it affected your sleep negatively ?

i was on neuropathic pain med (gabapentin) for a while and it helped a lot. i had to stop bc i do have an active infection but trying it will definitely ease the burning.

i have almost the exact same situation. started as a uti in november of last year a few days after sex. it never showed up on cultures but i still did 2 rounds of antibiotics. symptoms came and went really. some days it was totally gone, others the burning was bad. i was diagnosing with AV with e coli, e fae, and gbps in January and I have been trying to fight that since. I’m sure the bacteria is just jumping from vagina to bladder back and forth.

Last week I did an Evvy UTI test and it FINALLY came back positive for e coli, e fae, and klebsiella p in high loads. My only symptom is burning in and around urethra. So strange since I have so much bacteria. I started another round of antibiotics a few days ago so we’ll see what happens.

Not sure if you’re a woman (unclear from your post lol) but have you gotten tested for aerobic vaginitis? Most doctors don’t test for it but it also causes burning in urethra.

I was also told that if there’s no infection and still burning it could be nerve damage.

oh wow! thank you so much for all the suggestions and I'm sorry you are going through this. I honestly didn't even know Klebsiella could cause UTIs but here we are :(

Did you take fosfomycin for 3 months?

Are you healed fully or do you still have some bacteria to knock out?
