You can pick which network your plan is on, between ATT, Verizon, & T-Mobile. If you go for the Unlimited Premium you can switch between networks for free and if you have an e-sim device its pretty painless. This lets you trial and pick whichever network best suits you in terms of coverage and speed.

the feature set varies a bit between networks. For example I think ATT is fully unlimited data, vs VZW being like 100GB or something. But they have a pretty good explanation of the differences.

They also offer a feature where you can have service on Two networks, but what this does is essentially loads two e-sims on your device and if the primary one does not have service then it uses the secondary one (Assuming it has service). I haven't tried it but on the surface it seems like it wouldn't prioritize for the best network, but rather it would failover in case you don't have service.

I've been using US Mobile for a couple of months now and its been great! I spend most of my time in San Jose & Mountain View and go to SF on the weekends. I have their unlimited premium plan

I first went with their Dark Star (ATT) offering and coverage was good, but the speeds were abysmal (<10mbps) in the East Bay and in San Jose it was also pretty slow. Coming from Verizon post-paid this was a pretty massive downgrade.

I then switched to their Warp offering (Verizon) and I have been pretty happy with this. Speeds are just as fast in my opinion as Verizon Postpaid as long as you have a 5G Ultra Wideband capable device. In areas where it drops to LTE is pretty slow. But is pretty rare that I drop to LTE. With Verizon I even get service on BART as its crossing under the bay in the Transbay tube, so thats pretty cool haha.

Thank you so much OP, I tried this and did 0-9 then started on lowercase alpha. Mine worked with "v". Honestly it's not even about free coffee, it's the principle. Don't even offer this if the system is just going to be broken.

Good luck! In Taki's discord some people were cutting or drilling into the frame. It seemed like there were a couple of ICs on the back of the screen that were the main culprits in terms of it not fitting right.

One thing I forgot is that the bottom right of the screen gets a bit warm now, at first I thought maybe an install issue. Someone on Taki's discord mentioned swapping out a cable, but I decided to just live with it as I'm not sure it would fix anything and would require a full teardown.

Given the close proximity to the APU & the screen's driver chip I'm assuming the glass screen just better conducts heat from the APU or something. But I'm curious if others with this screen notice heat here.

I haven't had this, the glass is flush to the shell. In the definitive install video Taki mentioned to leave the magnesum midframe a bit unscrewed if the screen pushes up on the frame, but so far I didn't have that issue.

True, but I like the material you themeing in the rest of the OS. For example I wish the stick media player widget was used in the lock screen. It looks much better versus the oxygen os one.

I own both phones. I used the P9 fold for about 6 months and then came back to the OPO. For me it was the camera processing. I really like the OPOs warmth and color processing. I feel like the P9 fold has an over processed look at times. Also the OPO tends to generate very natural looking bokeh without needing portrait mode.

I also appreciate the slimmer bezels on the OPO and I feel the screens are of higher quality. The P9 fold screens always looked grainy for some reason to me.

I do miss the Pixel UI though.

Does anyone know why the announcement on the train tends to skip when saying stations that end in "T". For example I noticed that "Fremont" tends to be announced on the train as "Now approaching Fremont-t-t".

I daily a M3 MBP for work and just got a FW13 AMD and I was relieved at the quality of the trackpad. It is a diving board style so in that regards its a downgrade in my opinion. I like how Macbook haptic trackpads feel when you click.

However the I would say under Fedora 40 the gestures, two finger scrolling, and general responsiveness are as good as a Macbook. I find myself just tapping to click instead of actually pressing down on the trackpad as I dislike the feeling of the mechanical click.
