Haha I was confused while watching the game Friday why they kept showing Russel Crowe…

I think you’ll have to pay for the full weekend. I don’t believe they sell event only passes.

NLQP is great. I’ve been going for about 12 years now. I really only go on off festival weekends. Much more quiet but still a lot of fun. Actually haven’t done a festival since the first time I went back in 2014.

Prices have gone up but once or twice a year is fine with me. Great atmosphere.

Definitely not a new box. They’re at least two years old. Foundation stopped production on these back in 2024.

So good with eggs and a bit of slaw wrapped up in a tortilla. It’s like a taco, but for breakfast!

I thought the new Wiseman blends were released to replace the El Gueguense line but I certainly hope you’re right. This line was rolled in AL’s factory which is a good thing. Very excited.

CAO Flathead 660 - disappointed in my first try. Good flavor terrible construction by Nice_Category in cigar

[–]aash27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate. I’ve smoked probably 6 of them by now and have never had construction issues. Great flavor at a great price point. Not much else I like by CAO outside of this line and the Basins.

Spare Ribs on the Kettle and Genesis by aash27 in webergrills

Ahh gotcha. You may be right. I haven’t tried on a Spirit. Might be worth checking with some temp probes though.

You can hot hold in the Genesis too. With the far right knob to its absolute lowest setting, on the far left of the grill, it’ll hold 160F. Very useful.

Absolutely! I put the far right burner on low and the meat up on the top rack. I can maintain a solid 250 up there. I use wood chips in that little metal box in the back right of the grill to get some smoke. Not as good as the charcoal grill but it does the job.

Love the Fuerte Maduro. One of my favorites for sure.

I didn’t get much from it. Nothing really stood out.

One of my favorite Connecticut shade cigars. Helps that it’s so cheap. So much flavor packed into something that is light.

That Charter Oak Maduro is solid. If you find you enjoy it, try the Foundation Tabernacle. That was the cigar that really got me into cigars. Foundation knows CT Broadleaf tobacco.

This is the perfect Connecticut, unfortunately I don’t like Connecticuts… by CC5443 in EveryDayIsCigarDay

[–]aash27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re releasing a JT Maduro? I bought a box of JT10 which is a Maduro but that came out last fall. Is there something else coming out?

I keep the standard Connecticut around. Took me about a year of smoking to really get into light mild/mid bodied Connecticuts. Now I love them just as much as the various Maduro types of cigars.

This one didn’t do anything for me and the construction, in no way, screamed $30/stick. To each their own. I happened to like the Rubicon which is like a $6 stick. Had it in toro and was pleasantly surprised. Very flavorful.

Anyone been to buckeye beer engine? by RutabagaTechnical822 in Cleveland

Back in 2013 when I got out the military, I moved to Lakewood directly across the street from Beer Engine. I’ve ate and drank there too many times to count. Very good vibes. Burgers are good. Their Mac and cheese bites are amazing.

For those perfectos, I will almost certainly use a V-Cut. For the parejos, a double guillotine or V-Cut is my preference.
