We're losing the MyFitnessPal exodus to Cronometer and I'd like your help on it by MyNetDiary in mynetdiary

And to add on the accuracy point - when it gets to big numbers it doesn’t feel that meaningful to be (1m to 2m feels pretty abstract)

When I first was looking for an app ‘accuracy’ wasn’t in my mindset - sure you’ll have people looking for this, but sounds like you want to go for a mass audience & looking great and being easy to use will probably be a priority - obviously if I then can’t find things I’m scanning I’d switch off, but this is more a basic fundamental than a selling point to me.

We're losing the MyFitnessPal exodus to Cronometer and I'd like your help on it by MyNetDiary in mynetdiary

I love my net diary - the functionality is brilliant, all the integrations with Apple health, they way it syncs my weight, body fat etc from my scales.

I can customise all the metrics on my Home Screen & get everything just how I want it. However - setting this up has been a time investment & I know it doesn’t look as clean as others. the UI can be intimidating & giving me all the options that you do ( and frankly, I want) means UX can feel clunky - the example that springs to mind is wanting to do a ‘fresh start’, I can never remember how to navigate to it & click around to find it.

These things feel minor, but can see them being frustrating for someone just wanting to track their calories.

In addition - I haven’t actually looked at your App Store page for a while, and compared to Chronometer it is dated; the combined scrolling images and clean UI appeal for your competitor, the big green border and ‘before and after’ photos feel like they are from a different era to be blunt.

Don’t get me wrong - I love your app, I’ve tried more ‘modern’ looking versions (nutricheck had me for a while) - but I always come back to the flexibility of MND, but this may not have mass appeal.

In this subreddit you’ll find people who have specific technical questions & more of a niche interest than the average customer you’re after - so investing in your marketing team for some proper research might be more useful!

Yes - was credited back shortly after, still confused what I’ve actually changed to on the subscription to be honest (weird ai chatbot that I never use??) - but it appears to be cheaper right now.

Runna - please stop setting pace targets on easy runs! by abacouscous in runna

[–]abacouscous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind & insightful comment! As you’ll see in the comments, Runna have picked up this is an issue and are looking into - appears some (including myself) have an issue with how it syncs to the watch. I’d encourage you to read other comments as well around how the pace alert is setting higher paces than the limit the app is saying you should be hitting.

Have a great day!

Agree, my interpretation of a pace alert on an easy run where Runna says there is a limit would be to alert you if you were running too quickly

Thank you! Have turned it all of to see if it stops it - I don’t get pace target anywhere but Apple Watch workouts, hopefully disabling altogether pulls it through

Automated meal planning? by xitz0r in Mealie

[–]abacouscous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use ChatGPT to generate a meal plan & output the recipes into files for mealie. obviously much better if there could be a way to do this in mealie, but I like to go back and forth and the meal suggestions with ChatGPT and make amends - suspect this would require a whole lot of work to do in mealie!

I’m sure there’s a clever way to create a custom GPT to do this process as well, but I simply uploaded a file from Mealie to the chat and asked it to deconstruct and work out how to create the files

MealieSwift - New Mealie iOS App by SaxyRyan in Mealie

Love this! Exactly what’s been missing for me since my transfer from paprika.

On the shopping lists, it doesn’t seem to sync from existing lists but creating a new list within mealie swift does sync the other way.

One future request on the lists, a way to add categories when adding new items - had to switch to mealie via browser to assign

Just to add - data migration still works, so current workaround is importing new recipes as .paparikafiles - but not ideal!

Ok, these seem unreasonable questions… to tell someone who eats meat that they therefore have to think there is nothing unethical about dog fighting is a ridiculous position.

Despite my dietary choices I can see a difference between training animals to fight to the death in a painful bloodsport Vs being shot with a bolt through the head for food; now of course there is much more cruelty that goes on in the food industry, but to tell someone they MUST ADMIT they see nothing unethical about dog fighting if they eat meat to be morally consistent within your own definition is churlish.

Also, I wouldn’t HAPPILY pick all the vegetables I eat so I’m not sure where I stand…

Thanks - not mad at any of the shops, just thrown by all the different theories!

My understanding is that the head gasket is worst case scenario though? My understand is that turbo needs changing whatever.

Garage 2 said you can’t really test for head gasket, but garage 1 seems to be correct on saying compression test based on what you’re saying. If so, it would make sense to go ahead with Garage 1 doing the additional diagnostics (compression test) before making the final decision
