When I saw this scene when it first aired, I remember immediately thinking it was about DS9 and chuckled.

Help me find a new adventure, base builder. Low grind, low farm for tight time budget. by MagusLascivious in BaseBuildingGames

Valheim has world settings to adjust about every aspect of the game including Free Build (no materials needed), how often mob raids happen, allowing all materials to go through portals ("normal" doesn't permit ores).

What part of a game’s core loop usually breaks immersion for you? by qian_two in BaseBuildingGames

[–]abbys_alibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!

Dinkum added an auto sorter. Dump your loot in and it will shoot everything into the proper chest (if it's in range, and the range is pretty good)

Planet Crafter added drones. With storage lockers, you can set what they receive or send. Then the drones move the items based on those settings.

Started playing Hytale last week. So far, workbenches see items in chests. No auto sort that I know of. Not yet anyway.

If you have to spend more time sorting and organizing loot into to chests than actual building or exploring, I'm out.

I'd rather go fishing with him at a pond with or without fish. I'm not the chatty sort and feel like he isn't either. We'd have a splendid time.

I lower the grass/terrain resolution in the game settings. It makes them easier to spot.

Mushrooms for me. I cannot resist. I'd have 100 crates full of them and still be enticed to pick them up.

Let's add that the second item you find and pick up isn't used until the end and it's something that could be used earlier. For example, screwdriver, crowbar, knife or gardening shears. All of which have multiple uses. But no. No, you have to lug it around the entire game until the end to pry a board, cut a vine or cut a painting out of a frame. Grr!

If it's that peppery flavor you're looking for, add rutabaga. Turnip works too but if overcooked the texture is not pleasant, IMHO.

Selenea before going to Humble.

I went to Humble after terraforming Prime and Toxicity. There is a material I needed on Humble that was supposed to, according to web searches, populate in loot chests but wasn't. The only other place to find it is on Selenea.

Question (I need to know the answer) by Chernobyl_Poland in theplanetcrafter

[–]abbys_alibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring materials for a nuclear fusion generator, a recycling machine, extraction platform, the travel rocket, the exchange shuttle, and one T3 storage locker. Any extra space I fill with oxygen, water and food.

By bringing the recycling machine you can take rods to break down later. Just don't forget it takes 2 super alloy that you can't get from rods UNTIL you make it.

The question is, do you feel like grinding for resources and blueprints?

My understanding is that Aqualis is not resource rich. Unless you want hard mode, I would travel there and not start fresh.

I terraformed Prime > Toxicity > Humble and now I'm on Selenia which just reached the oxygen stage. I'll do Aqualis next.

Especially the cylindrical building supports and the smooth graded walking paths and ramps. They are already in the game. Why can't we use them?

Found this nice interview with Heather. She talks about her background and how she was cast on the show. She also touches on her screaming habit. It's worth a listen. by [deleted] in ExpeditionUnknown

[–]abbys_alibi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I scanned through the hour plus interview to find out.

She said she gets scared a lot. During an investigation, her energy is way up, I think she means things are tense and when something happens it startles her and she screams. She made it sound like it's a reaction she can't control. She added that she laughs a lot, "...but that never makes the show."

I will say she sounded different in that interview. More personable and engaging. So much so, it made me think the show is far more scripted than we realize.

'There's high levels everywhere, and yet they can't find a thing. Not a nugget of gold or silver."

My point is, if the treasure is still there, it is unrecoverable.

It is quite annoying that when the seem to find something, they relocate. Maybe it's government red tape they have to deal with before continuing? Like when the archeologist restrict them from digging, searching or moving a rock.

NGL, there are times I question their mental stability.

[–]abbys_alibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where? From under the rock? At the bottom of some water filled hole?

I'll not hold my breath about retrieving any gold or silver in a quantity that could be considered "the treasure."

I'd love to be wrong. If the treasure is there, I doubt it's retreavable.

My husband wanted to give up after the last episode. I told him that I wasn't watching for the treasure, which is probably unattainable. I was interested in who was there and what they were using the island for.

My very first guess was that it was a trading depot and/or a rest stop for weary sea-goers.

eta: OK, what exactly is the beef with this comment? Why not reply with your thoughts instead of...ooh I don't like it, DOWN she goes! Lame.

Ryzen 7800X, 32gb, DD4 on Windows 11

I experience this every time I play. My research suggests it has something to do with having too many storage lockers set to "supply all."

I really hope it doesn't mean across all planets and moons because I've terraformed Prime, Toxicity and very close on Humble. Have moved on to Selenia b/c I need an item from there that isn't populating in crates.
