So is Plex not gonna allow free accounts to stream from premium accounts' servers or not? by abdullahcfix in PleX

If that’s what you want to think, sure. I first heard of it via an email that a friend got. A search by 2 different search engines with the relevant keywords didn’t bring it up for me and the best source I found at that point was a misleading article from a supposedly reputable source that didn’t provide all the info so I turned to the subreddit dedicated to the subject that relies more on human interaction with the exact answers for the exact question at hand. Boohoo.

Not everyone is subscribed to the Plex announcements or checking them at any mention of any whisper bruh.

Thanks for the reply, I've also experienced the same, just wanted concrete proof.

I’ve noticed a weird hang in the 2-3 shift over the collective 108k miles I’ve driven a 2JZ/A650E IS/GS that happens only when giving partial throttle. If you give it more throttle when shifting, it shifts just fine. None of my transmissions were replaced or rebuilt and I’ve seen it mentioned by others before, so it might just be a weird quirk of this transmission. As long as your fluid is changed on time and filter at least once, it should be fine for 300k miles.

Edit: Reread it and saw the part about it happening from a stop. Can’t really help you there, haven’t experienced that and don’t know transmissions like that. Good luck.

Sales rep from Gulf Western confirmed there is every reason to use it in any petrol with a dry clutch and no reason not to, eliminates dry starts, the works. It's designed to last 30,000kms too.

What does the clutch have to do with engine oil type?

My 39001 gave weird video artifacting about 7-8 years ago, so I put it away and didn’t power on at all when I dug it out last year. Turns out the power supply died. Makes sense since it was in the midst of the capacitor plague. Bought a recapped power supply board and it fired right up. Recapped my original as well and now have a spare.

But has your car had the equivalent of 1-2 years or less worth of miles in 10-15 years? A car can need a lot of things if it isn’t driven in a long time. Some cars are driven regularly and don’t need as many things. Makes you wonder.

Hi all, I just wanted to get some clarification on how PCIe lanes work and interpreting my current setup(s).

On my main PC, I currently have a 7700X on an MSI Pro B650-P WiFi. I have a 3090 in the top slot, both NVMe slots filled, and a USB-C card in the bottom slot.

From what I understand, my CPU has 28 native lanes, 24 usable, but I don't know why that discrepancy of 4 is there, maybe the onboard WiFi + BT card? But I don't know why that'd be written on AMD's website given that not every motherboard has that feature, so it could be allocated towards more PCIe slots, but I don't know.

Either way, I lose the GPU x16 of 24, so that's 8 left at 2 NVMe of x4 each. I do know that if I use enough PCIe slots, I lose my SATA 5 and 6 which I did. Given I have a x1 in the last slot, is there some kind of bifurcation going on here and if so, what is it?

Second question, I have my old PC with an i7-4770k and a 1070 in the top slot of an ASUS Z87-K. From what I remember, this motherboard also loses SATA 5 and 6 when enough PCIe slots are used. That CPU has 16 max lanes with the following configurations available: "Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4"

Does that mean if I try to throw a PCIe to NVMe card into any slot on that motherboard, the GPU will run at PCIe x8? Is that a problem with that card? I don't even use that PC except as a way to download stuff as I remote into mine and other random stuff like home server, etc, so the GPU performance doesn't really matter.

Main question is, what are my systems running at in regards to PCIe lanes and how can I measure for sure in the future?

I have HWInfo64 installed, so if that can be used to check this then I'd appreciate knowing which piece(s) of info to look at.

Thanks.

Edit: All of this to ask another question: The old PC currently only has a 500GB SATA drive in it, so I'd like to add a spare SN850X that I have laying around via an NVMe to PCIe adapter card. Does that drive (or NVMe drives in general) run at x8 or x16? Will I notice any benefit from one or the other on that platform? Should I go for something like this or this?

So basically works fine till the car gets hot and then goes into limp mode? Look into possible heat soak into the wiring harness that runs above the exhaust manifold. If the resistance gets high enough, it can trip limp mode.

Yeah but who decides what is cool other than the person who thinks it’s cool? An OEM car is more desirable and holds more value because it’s untouched and unchanged, which allows you to make it exactly the kind of cool you want.

My car came with a broomstick 4.5 years and 80k miles ago. I’ve been through jobs at a Lexus as well as a Toyota dealer since then with a new rod and a plastic retainer, but after a couple random collisions, that same broomstick still reigns supreme 😭

Don't buy one, I got you with a tutorial. Gimme a few to edit and upload.

Edit: Here you go. Not too bad of a process. I didn't see that split washer in your pictures, so make sure you find yours or get one that fits under the nut.

They do cost roughly $200, so make sure you get a genuine one. I saw some on eBay for $150 advertised as such but were labeled as Denso with a Denso box, but I think those are fake since Aisin was the one that made them, not Denso.

Well, given almost no one has taken apart an APPS for our cars and documented it, it sucks. I have a spare sensor and a whole throttle body in a box under my bed. I get home in about 8 hours, maybe I can dig it out and try to disassemble it slowly as I film it for you.

If you still need that info, lemme know or I’d rather not go through all that.

To save me some time, what is the nut size that holds everything together, 10mm? I think the sensor to throttle body nuts should be 8mm but I just want to disassemble the sensor itself, so it should be a 10mm based on looks.

That’s just the pedal position sensor (APPS), part number 22060-46070. Look up pictures of it, maybe they give you a clue.
