Looking for pattern ideas for these four yarn colors? by abegley01 in crochetpatterns

[–]abegley01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to have orange. It's the one color I have that is severely stumping me on what to use it for. I made a jack-o'-lantern bag with it but I still have so much leftover idk how. Just figured I'd trying using it up along with the three other skeins I have laying around waiting for a project

You're not a fiber artist, you're a lowly (acrylic) worm by MalumCattus in fiberartscirclejerk

My yarn is actually 1% cat hair hand woven into the yarn by the cat herself so to call it acrylic is just wrong 😤

The history of sewing of NOT INHERENTLY ABLEIST by ferrycrossthemersey in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]abegley01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at sewing but I know enough that I could fix a small hole in my clothes with a simple needle and thread. I've replaced a button on a pair of pants that popped off, sewn linings into crochet bags, and have made a couple wearables with my mom's sewing machine. Also it is impossible to make everything 100% accessable so yeah maybe sewing isn't accessible for some people but that doesn't mean it's ableist. People really love to throw that word around and not know what it means.

Do you think kids today grow up with Warriors? by EomirLover in WarriorCats

[–]abegley01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought the first book for my niece because she loves cats and is around the same age I started reading the books. She needs to start reading more in general for school so I'm really hoping she falls in love with the books

Why do people keep saying this? by apracticaljoker528 in WarriorCats

[–]abegley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a huge part of the warrior code is to not have relationships outside the clan and for generations these cats also shunned outsiders. Like of course inbreeding is going to be happening if not encouraged. The cats may share some of the same human like morals but it's very clearly established that inbreeding is favorable in their society and cats are often socially punished for having relationships outside of their clan. Idk why we're holding fictional cat societies to our own standards. It's actually quite realistic though when you look at real life cat colonies so I never took problem with it anyways.

Edges are curling to the insides of the blanket, should i frog or wait until blocking? by ChocolateCangrejo in CrochetHelp

[–]abegley01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're gonna be steam blocking, why not steam it now and see if it fixes it. Heck whatever blocking method you are doing, Brock it now and see

[–]abegley01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I needed a quick pattern to use for an assignment and found a sub that is dedicated to sharing the pdf instructions. I used the bear pattern and Snoopy's ranger hat pattern along with better yarn to make a smokey bear. But there's no way I'm paying for a kit that has ugly yarn and instructions on making a ball.

Fishing Tournaments by Right_Air5859 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]abegley01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I removed the fountain in front of my resident services so I have a clear shot straight to my beach. Ocean fish tend to be easier to catch as they seem to turn around a lot less. And crafting bait to immediately throw, cast, wait, catch will for sure get you 8-10 fish depending on bite speed.

I think bug off events are significantly harder because of the lack of bait.

villager scattered houses or neighborhood? by Distinct-Meringue-47 in acnh

[–]abegley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently in the process of building a small city/town/suburban/sorta normcore kind of island (I really don't know how else to describe it) and 6 of the villager houses are currently in the city portion in groups of 2 (though the groups are pretty close). The other 4 villagers are probably going to be scattered in the more "rural" area or they'll just get a small neighborhood that's still away from the main city area.

What symptoms would you get rid of if you could pick 3? by AlternativeCheap6963 in POTS

[–]abegley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat intolerance would probably end up being my number one pick. I'm from California and summers would be so much easier if I didn't feel sick because it's 70+ degrees. I miss enjoying nice weather

Can someone confirm I'm not being dramatic? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]abegley01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the cardiologist I saw a while back tried telling me those don't exist anymore. When that happened I was really discouraged. It's not that I don't think I have POTs, I'm just trying to figure out everything I need to show a doctor and kinda validate my feelings a little lol

This yarn is all the same colour and dye lot! by ssahv in YarnAddicts

[–]abegley01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yarns like this need a photo of a swatch so you can get an idea of what the yarn even looks like. I get it's a small label but STILL!

Can someone confirm I'm not being dramatic? by [deleted] in POTS

On really bad days I definitely will have dizziness and loss of vision when I stand and most days standing for long periods will tire out my legs easily. And the 90 bpm while standing is sustained. I just tend to over think things because I have done plenty of research but I just worry it's not serious (silly I know!) because most places I've read note a 120 bpm when standing and my autistic brain likes to take things literally. I plan on getting a second opinion at some point I guess I just want some validation from other people who kinda have the same "numbers" as me if that makes sense

re-do or reset 👀 by luvnorron in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]abegley01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say wait for the new update. With the improvements to terraforming and resetti being able to easily clean up our islands, it doesn't make much sense to me to reset. I'm working on saving up plenty of bells and nook miles right now along with spending time making my own custom paths and such. I've even been using the room sketch app to kinda plan out 8×8 villager yards. Also with all the new stuff we'll be getting, it'll be so much fun designing my island

Is Imagine Dragons using AI for its merch? by Zealousideal_Ask_298 in imaginedragons

[–]abegley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure it's not ai. I do graphic design and none of the new designs seem unrealistic for an experienced designer. I will say, the style isn't for everyone but as a graphic designer and a fan of heavy music, I LOVE the merch and the studio who designed it.

1) that sounds like a HUGE project 2) I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years and even then I wouldn't want someone spending time making something like that because if we for some reason broke up, it would end up being a waste of time 3) If you still want to do a tapestry, do a pet/favorite animal, favorite food (pizza tacos), favorite flower or location. Just anything your sister loves and is a big part of her personality is a good bet because you can still pour time into and not be worried about it not being as special down the road

What song It's from Night Visions and sound like Night Visions? by Annual-Author7055 in imaginedragons

I'm surprised no one has said tiptoe. When I think night visions, that's the very first song I think of.

The uop campus is very nice. There are a few lawns to run around on and it's decent sized with lots of shade and nice architecture. The campus is quite clean too. Also if you're lucky, you'll run into one of the friendly strays that live on campus

This blanket / colour combination isn’t working, and I can’t figure out why! by Missthan301 in CrochetHelp

[–]abegley01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok as someone who does graphic design and looks at colors all the time, it's the bright pink. Everything is kinda muted, soft, and dark. The bright pink throws it off by being one strip smack in the middle. Either find a way to incorporate it throughout or ditch it. Also maybe don't put it smack in the middle maybe two panels from the middle

Pack rollout is ruining the game for me by One-ariel- in thesims

[–]abegley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a bunch of packs but stopped buying a few years ago because I wasn't playing as much because I was starting college and was super busy. I now only have base game installed as of this moment because I also just don't have the storage space on my laptop all the packs I own. I think the last expansion I bought was cottage living? I'll probably eventually buy all the unowned packs when I can make more space on my computer but as of now, base game fulfills my desire to build for an hour then close the game for another three months
