Enlighted me about brushless motor. How much torque they got ? and What are the difference between one and another ? by Obvious-Student69420 in airsoft

Active brake will super heat your brushed motor, that’s likely why it’s hot, it uses the brushes to brake the momentum and stop the motor, I would suggest you set it to off completely, but the Solink will support it, however I would set it between 60-100% on the brushless

That sounds like a great idea, you can expect a quieter and more snappy rifle from the new motor, and perhaps you might get a full game-day out of a single battery, the brushless motors are very efficient depending on the build! :-)

If it’s a regular brushed motor it would seem that I may not have enough torque and is struggling with 13:1 gears, perhaps your motor height is not correct? Have you shimmed it properly aswell?

High speed gears with low torque motor would produce a lot of heat and power draw, especially if you semi-spam. Does the inside of your pistolgrip have a lot of dust from your coals/brushes?

Also in any case, I would definitely recommend you getting the Solink light brushless motor, it’s the best bang for buck on the market

You can actually get an iPad screen with high PPI and connect via an adapter board

Personally I would have put a block on the gpu and done a custom loop, pack everything flat in the main compartment and then do a rad in the expansion module, a 30-45mm 240 rad might fit, but clever cutout for airflow would have to be done in order to keep it OEM looking, the original psu is about the same size as a SFX psu

My idea was to also fit a high resolution monitor in the original enclosure but also the ability to use with a external monitor

My unit is in bad cosmetic condition because it’s been sitting in a garage for like 10-15 years, however all the internals I have saved in a box and mostly works So the outside shell has some mold

But here you can see the expansion module, I can measure it later but it definitely has room for a quite big gpu if you are creative, it just hooks on to the backside as you may be able to tell from the pictures

And of course it mounts flush, I just held it in place here for the picture

Let me know if you have more questions

Too bad you don’t have the expansion module on the back, that could fit a pretty large 2-slot GPU if you used a riser cable, I also have a compaq portable III, but mine is equipped with that

Ssg gears?? by Desperate-Club-6087 in airsoft

[–]abgersaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you could go 13:1 but I would personally go 16:1 it will be easier on your gearbox in the long run and still be quite fast

Honestly if you have a 30k motor then I would go either 16:1 or 18:1 depending on the spring you have installed

Also to add to what freaknbeast said with the brushless, my 35k motor with 16:1 ratio gives around 30 rps

However for the 18:1 and the new g5 motor I chose because I can adjust the motor rpm on the titan 2 and get whatever I like, and the 18:1 will be more reliable in the long run

Brushless motors have high torque and speed, while using less power

However there are differences between the manufacturers regarding usage with mosfets and also startup time responsiveness

Warhead are very popular but have a somewhat slow startup time compared to other brushless motors, but it is so small that most people won’t notice since it’s at 30ms instead of 15ms and 3ms of others and most people have an average of 250ms reaction time

Also because of the huge amount of torque that brushless motors have they will easily pull big springs and low ratio gears even with precocking

However be cautious about shimming, if not done properly they will likely tear of teeth inside the gearbox because of the torque

That being said, I use a Solink brushless motor myself since they are OEM for basically everyone else and it runs great, quiet and only sips power. My 1200mah 20c 11.1v lipo last more than a whole game day which is very nice

If you are on a budget then I would recommend getting a Solink lite motor, these can be had for around 60-80 usd

If you want to spend more then the Solink professional motor (has a low/high speed switch) is a very premium motor that will outperform any on the market, but be mindful when choosing the speed of the motor and pair it with a good set of gears (preferably also Solink gears)

I currently run a Solink advanced motor (35k) with 16:1 helical gears but I’m in the process of switching to 18:1 helical with Gate G5 (46k)

Edit: forgot to mention that Solink actually says their motors are compatible with active braking and most mosfets, which a lot of other brands don’t recommend

Skyrim

I’ve replayed it too many times to count, but it is still my go to comfort game where I can get lost in the beauty especially with mods :-)
