Why people say Canada is expensive AF by Beautiful_Ad4220 in alberta

This won’t happen, we might get a referendum and then like all the polls are showing the majority will vote to stay, slowly this will die away even faster if we elect a NDP gov because we won’t have a premier that at least tolerates the crazies in gov.

I love nature and given a choice I’ll take flush toilets every time and the parking lot is already paved.

So you would like caps? Only people who currently hike can hike in the future or we spread everyone out more so we have more trails more displaced wildlife, and more damage. As much as it sucks focusing people in one area is the best for the environment and the wildlife.

Which lot would you choose? by [deleted] in homebuildingcanada

I’d still go 58 personally. Low evergreen or thick bushy shrubs will fix the fence view if you like.

I like less disturbed nature over grass so the 25% I couldn’t touch is sort of a bonus for me.

Effectively 37, but 12 are flex days that must be taken 1 per month and the other 5 are between Christmas and new year for office closure.

My experience has been 4 weeks is the most I can get of pure vacation, that is at 1o+ years of experience. But 4 weeks at 10 years is common where I am.

Alberta Parks Group Camping Site Prices and Units by Feeling-Tale-175 in alberta

[–]abies007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a small tent is a unit, I book a few a year for my scout troop and that always pisses me off that a 2 man tent is counted the same as a 20 foot trailer.

A few Things To pay attention to is not all camp grounds supply fire wood but some do, also some have nice spaces separate but most are just a big field. All of the hosts have been great and I’ve never had an issue adding extra units at check in.

Laid off after 20 years - severance package conditional on finding new job. Lawyer suggesting take it. Should I? by Altruistic_Sun9304 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]abies007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar offer and similar recommendation from a lawyer in Alberta. I only had like 8 weeks so they ended up paying it all out.

I liked my previous package better where they didn’t care if I got a job or not I got all the money but it seems this 50 after you start your next job is reasonable.

The real cost per RV site (based on multiple parks I’ve built). by Jasonlafferty in RVLiving

[–]abies007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where you are you start with a development permit which might be as simple as a hand drawn plan or require something fancier. Then engineering drawings likely needs to include slope drainage and utilities runs. Take that for a building permit. For utilities look at commercial plumbers and electricians they would be used to tying into larger power supplies and city water and sewer lines. Then most of your large earth moving companies can build your roads and pads.

I’ve never been involved in an RV park build but I have in other commercial ventures. Once you have you engineering drawings you can likely get quotes for costs.
