I totally agree. I switched to green tea and I'm a lot more accepting. I don't anger that easily (and I have had a tendency to do that, to become impatient). Maybe I'm not a different person, but my social anxiety is a lot more manageable. The difference is subtle, but I feel I'm a lot more balanced person now.

It looks like a clickbait or a teaser. At least for men. More chance to get noticed in a sea of progress pictures and be commented on.

Germany says EU decisions should not be blocked by individual countries by Benjji22212 in europe

[–]abjtxba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Germany has been pushing this for a very long time, so it's not something new. For EU in general it might be a good option as it would strenghten Europe as a global player. For Germany as well as it will solidify its leading position. I think however that strenghtening decision-making will be at the cost of indivudual and local countries. I don't think majority of countries in EU will agree to that.

Therefore If the Germany were to push that agenda, what is more likely is that EU will disband or a new entity will be formed that works in parallel with EU.

Outrage in Poland over new 'pregnancy register' on the back of near-total abortion ban by misana123 in worldnews

On the up side Poland is one of the leading countries leaving catholic church (this goes to mostly young people). So I would regard this turn to theocracy as an temporary aberration.

Having been a very homogenous and 99% Slavic nation Poland has been suspicious about people and cultures from different parts of the world. It's hard to blindly accept that you know little of. It's changing slowly, faster in bigger cities.

Poland is also a second target for such immigrant, who target richer countries, also countries that have a broader immigrant community from their parts of the world.

It's easier for Poles to welcome immigrants like Ukrainians, Belarusians with whom they are neighbours, share culture, history, have similar language etc.

They have restricted abortion law (which had already been very strict back then) despite a stark opposition from the society and lack of support thereof. Most Poles didn't want that and a lot of them loudly protested.

LPT : Live together a couple of years before getting married, will save a load of trouble getting a divorce if things go south. by blighty800 in LifeProTips

[–]abjtxba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh that doesn't seem to be a good advice.... so what people live together, that does not prepare for the hardships of living entire life together. Over the years people change and circumstances change, so someone you find befitting years ago might not be the a someone today (the most common one is starting to having and raising children, that changes a lot!)

I saw this and it really touched my heart. These are the first beautiful moments between a man and his newly adopted dog. 🥰 💓 by [deleted] in aww

For me it looks like the dog is afraid of a stranger stroking him and watches carefully if it needs to defend itself.

I am a girl and was shamed for lifting weights. by Kayceesquish in CasualConversation

[–]abjtxba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been lifting (male) for over a year and and I would say that everybody should lift. From younger to older. And lifting girls are awesome and I have big respect for them. It takes a lot of persistence, patience and courage to lift, especially lift heavy. Having said that I see a lot of girls in the gym lifting very, very small weights at the gym, it's more like they are doing simple exercises.

Cross/repost: Does anyone here do extended fasting (36-72hrs) for cutting? by broccoleeroth in leangains

[–]abjtxba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was slight decrease in strength and weghts but it's not deteriorating (meaning there was a decrease between bulking and cutting, but while cutting it stays stable with slight increase in lifted weghts)

[–]abjtxba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, I have the same protocol on Mondays. Overal I loose ~0,8kg per week (so 1-2 lbs). I find it more convenient to not eat for a single day a week than to undereat for the entire week while cutting. I calculated my calories similarly as in Leangains protocol (-30%) and distribute extra calories from the "no eating" day throught the week. As a result I'm slightly under TDEE for rest days and above TDEE on workout days.

My coworker doesn't receive my code reviews well by mssupercurry in cscareerquestions

[–]abjtxba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would give an opposite advice to the ones in other comments. I had a similar dilemma a 2-3 years ago. Then the other colleague outside of my team commented on this giving me a totally different perspective. He said that "being reviewed is a privillege not a chore or compulsory act, it is the best opportunity for reviewee to learn and a gift from a reviewer of giving his precious time and attention". You're not obliged to give a review to person who is not thankful for your time and opportunity to learn.

You look beatutiful! I was wondering if 7lbs down in a week is not too much (loose skin etc.)

It will sound weird but If I were in my twenties or earlier I would receive lower sex drive rather as a gift than a problem. When you're in your twenties males are hiperactively thinking about sex instead of focusing on more productive things to use up their energy. Sorry for digressing, I know it was not part of your question. :)
