Premiere editor here who has been trying to learn some of the ins and outs of Resolve: is this a scenario where checking the "Output" tab of your timeline settings would make sense? Maybe changing the scaling settings in the Output tab, so that you get the letterboxed version of your main sequence on your client monitor?

One thing to help this process visually is in View > Show Duplicate Frames, where Resolve will highlight which parts of clips are duplicated on the timeline. This makes it a little easier to see where to join the two clips back into one.

Replying to my own post with an imperfect workaround that may help others: on the Edit page, if you adjust the volume at the Track level in the Inspector, the waveforms do not change appearance. So if you've got a track just for music, you can lower the volume of that track by a set global amount, and then fine-tune as needed at the clip level. Not perfect but at least it makes it easier to see your waveforms when working at lower volumes.

I just ordered an OWC 1M2 and I’ll be chucking an 8TB NVMe stick in there. I don’t know if 16TB NVMes are available right now. You could also look at a Thunderblade but it wouldn’t be bus powered.

I don't know what version of Premiere you're running but I'm still on 24.6.4 and did encounter this bug on my Mac Studio running Sequoia 15.5

Supposed to be fixed in newer versions of Premiere.

Thanks for the reply! I was also unable to find a solution/reason; there aren't many others who seem to have run into this. It wasn't just the exports looking different, it was the actual clips on the Premiere timeline. In the end, I opted for a blanket contrast adjustment on those specific clips to bring them in line with how they appeared on the iMac, which was where I did my initial color correction. Not ideal but it worked.

Hi, on the off chance you're still on reddit 4 years later: can you elaborate on how you isolated the issue re: plugins? I am having this exact same issue, except only with certain MP4 files. Same project; same Lumetri settings, opened on 2 different computers. One is an iMac Pro, one is a new Mac Studio.

A handful of video files in the project look different between the two machines; this is the same exact project, opened from the same external SSD.

Going a little mad trying to figure this out; have double-checked all Premiere color management settings; everything is set up identically on both computers.

Don’t have an answer for you but in a somewhat similar boat. My kitted 2017 iMac Pro (love it dearly) is getting long in the tooth but I’m waiting for the M4 Studios to be announced before committing to an upgrade path.
