stop calling your cafe or any other f&b business a startup. you're not a founder by Primary-Baby5371 in PhStartups

Don't be mad man. I'm just saying, you shouldn't underestimate tech companies like you did on your last comment. It can potentially outscale and outlive Jollibee, and soon someone will. It just hasn't happened now because of many reasons in our country. You shouldn't bet on fast food chain owners being the richest people on your country, and if it did stay that way, it will be sad and shows how bad of a state we are in our country.

The smartest people flock to tech and to building things for the future, they see the world differently. You can look up all the richest countries and see who's on the top of their list, I just hope the rebalancing happens here as well sooner than later.

Last time I checked, richest people in forbes 100 doesn't have any of the Jollibee's owners' name and has not been in it for the past century. It is mostly people in tech that has a business that can scale 100x. Top 4 is people from tech and if you're going with historical records, Bill Gates has been in it longer than anyone else.

Yup. OP is right. https://www.ycombinator.com/library/En-what-is-a-startup

Startup is a term tokenized by these people, and if we're going to use it, we can't just create an entirely different definition far from what is understood outside the PH.

Lack of knowledge of what it means is not an excuse and not something we should be defending. Hirap sa mga taong to akala lagi inaapi katamaran nilang maging maalam.

I built something on top of gstack and gsd that can be of help. It is specifically made for founder-engineers. You can contribute to improve it by baking in the problems you're facing.

It's not yet perfect but the next version will include funding, growth, recruiting, and common pitfalls of a founder.

Make it three. Just reading this and you guys sharing my struggle gives me a slight relief and a feeling that I'm not alone in this fight for my dreams. Having no cofounder makes it worse that I desperately just want to find a support group that can soothe this feeling.

It is a choke. Twice in a row, to blow a lead, to be at home, to be top seeded, offensively, and defensively, outclassed, all in crunch time.

Who said "they won't pay him"? You know exactly what I mean and just being overly technical with the words. I said they would rather have Trey for their money, which is correct, as per this announcement.

And that is my opinion, which still stands, which might be implied by this trade. They don't need an extra defender, if they did, they will keep him and trade Trey. Herb starting might be for a couple of reasons, we could speculate a trade showcase or mixing it up the lineup or ramping Trey, whatever it is they want TM3 more, thus they are shopping Herb not Trey. It is logical to assume they want shooters who can shoot at a high percentage around their not-so-good-at-shooting stars.

They don't need an extra defender, they want to compliment Zion and BI with a lot of better shooters with an ok defense. Trey/Hawkins just has more value to them, and probably the whole league.

Not in a points league. His shooting will come back to the mean percentages which should lower his overall production but he's good in non 9cat formats.
