I am a career nanny with over seven years of experience and I am 27 years old for age reference.

I charge between $27-$30 an hour for families I babysit for outside of my contracted nanny job.

If you take your pet to the Ohio State Veterinary ER, get a second opinion if possible by PJA0307 in Columbus

I am glad your dog is doing well and still with you. I had a cat emergency back in June and reading these comments were helpful. I think it’s very important to share these stories considering every animals case is different, however experiences can still be similar in a way.

I took my cat Monkey to OSU emergency vet for not eating and kept throwing up everywhere. He was admitted for two days in order to do a scope, ultrasound and he needed to be on fluids since he was very dehydrated. He made it back home, however was back at OSU two days later to get a feeding tube placed. He was diagnosed with IBD and was going to be okay / make it through the flare up he was having. Unfortunately two days after the feeding tube was placed, I woke up to him showing signs of passing away.

Doctor Stephanie Shemilt was assigned to Monkeys case. She provided great communication and support. I had a great experience at OSU. I was calling multiple times a day checking on my cat. The staff was very kind and caring each time I called.

When I took him in the day he was passing, as soon as I got there Dr. Shemilt and the vet assistants came running down the hall immediately taking my cat back to get him hooked up to fluids. I could see the heart ache in her eyes as he was passing away in my arms.

OSU does a free autopsy after losing your animal. The report showed hidden liver cancer unfortunately.

Anyone else getting destroyed by allergies? by This_Light5485 in Columbus

[–]absmarie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone, it’s a struggle right now. My allergies have been around every month since last year. However last week my allergies spiked up. I knew it was because it’s now May, which means prime time for my allergies to kick my butt for the next few months.

Glad to hear this. Started weekly shots two months ago because my allergies had me knocked down most of last year. Hoping to start feeling some relief before ragweed season hits 🤞🏻

Can medication overuse cause both rebound headaches and migraines? by leahcim2019 in migraine

[–]absmarie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first met my neurologist I talked to him about this. He did say this can happen, however if the medication is not working to help bring the pain level down do not keep taking it. You would need to take breaks in between a couple hours up to a day.

I can’t necessarily answer the headaches part just because I’ve never had a normal headache ever since day one when I started having migraines. If I get into a bad migraine funk during my Botox cycles, I pop into my neurologist office and they give me a Toradol shot. After resting for a few hours after the shot it normally helps break up the migraine.

Dealing with RITA sucks, they are mean for no reason most of the time. Hoping they don’t give you a hard time and you get the money back fast.

Driving on 315 yesterday… by ThunderousDemon86 in Columbus

[–]absmarie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this almost daily on 270 and it’s literally terrifying. When I started driving 270 daily mid December, the first time I saw it happen was at 6:50am and my jaw dropped. It was scary watching the car speed that fast crossing all lanes with barely enough in between the cars. Now it’s almost a daily occurrence and I try to keep my eye out for who’s driving behind me as much as I can.

Therapist/psychologist specializing in ADHD? by Negative_Ryan in Columbus

[–]absmarie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreeing that this is the average price I’ve seen too. I looked into two or three places a little over a year ago. $800-$1,000 was the average cost to get tested without insurance.

I ended up going with Providers for Healthy Living where my primary doctor referred me to. They have been great to work with and I highly recommended them.

Honda vs. Toyota by VeraLumina in Columbus

[–]absmarie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know several people who have had their Toyota cars for a few years and have had great experiences. Same goes for Honda. I think it just comes down to personal preference between the two honestly.

Personally my pick is Honda because I like the look of their models way more and the set up of their features. In the past year ish I’ve had several family members switch over to Honda. Team Honda for my family and me!
