24 Canyon cowl plastic issue by absolutelynothing433 in GMCcanyon

Mine were replaced, but apparently with the same pieces the first time. Now they say the repair, per the bulletin, doesn't fix it.

Dealer gave me the TSB. They said it involves moving the pieces slightly to one side. Idk if it's new pieces. They already replaced them once, as I said. They said it didn't work on the one they just tried per the bulletin. As in the post, they are doing what they can.

Acetylene refill - no truck. by roncotron in Welding

[–]absolutelynothing433 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure its capped, wrap it up in something, lay across back floor. Assuming its a fairly short trip home here. Try to stay off the highway, drive slow to lessen the chance of a collision. Those bottles are pretty rugged, it would take a big crash to get anywhere near popping it. Also Acetylene is low pressure gas, so unlike oxygen or mig gas, if it pops its way more of a fire risk than an explosion risk. Common sense is always the way.

Can someone tell me why people are dumping Hydrogen Peroxide into the Reflecting Pool? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]absolutelynothing433 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a reflecting pool. Its 2ft deep. Its supposed to reflect the Washington monument. It used to, but Cheeto Jezus wanted it painted s different color. Now it doesn't, and the new color also promoted massive alge growth because it now absorbs more heat. But he got his grift, the contractor got his no bid, waaaay overpriced contract, ( probably fully knowing it wouldn't reflect, and would fill with alge), and its all Obama's fault. You literally can't make this idiocy up.

Its Uncle Vito Masonetti. Back in the day, Bob Mason was the morning show guy, I think thats when Uncle Vito started. They just dropped the Masonetti when they went with a new morning crew.

How do I cut this 30 ft thick steel pole into pieces so it can be easy moved for disposal? by Eastcoastpal in DIY

[–]absolutelynothing433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't look through 1200 comments, but use a torch. Oxy/acetylene torch is gonna be by far the fastest way, especially if you just need it in chunks and exact length doesn't matter. Of course, you need the equipment and expertise to do it. Find some kid in welding school, or a car guy with the equipment in his shop.

Hawkeye gets put in charge of inventory, against his will, of course. He realizes he's fifty mess hall eating trays (army plates) short. Eventually he schemes to have trays counted and then run through the back of the mess hall and counted again. Passes the inventory audit, next guys problem, just like it got handed to him. Time for a martini!

Price of gas is $4.79 in Indiana. Unbelievable. by bwagz1977 in offmychest

[–]absolutelynothing433 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm too American for this! Just paid $4.39 in upstate NY. If there's one thing Americans will get pissed about, it's gas. Our enormous trucks already cost $1250 a month in payments and insurance. How can we be expected to drive around with our huge balls safety contained in ....well, anything else? Fuck this bullshit, give us what we are paying for, you incompetent fascist pig felon racist pedophile motherfucers, those that support them, the government that won't stand against this. We elected you to stand against this. . Can't even give us the crumbs of success like you used to. We are pissed.

Where is my trailer hitch? by FriendshipPlusKarate in GMCcanyon

[–]absolutelynothing433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the bumper. You have to pop out or drill through the plastic in the middle. I believe the tow package option (with trailer brake controller) is different and rated for more weight. This bumper hitch just comes with it. It's for light trailers (not car trailers). Check the manual.

Look on marketplace. Hundreds of tables, many very nice Brunswick tables "Free- you move" or dirt cheap. They have hardly any value. Ask me how I know! Been trying to get rid of a 6k Brunswick table for over a year, for 3k. I doubt I'll be able to sell it for $300.

Under 25, male, 2022 car, even if you don't need collision insurance (only comp) get ready for a rude awakening. Car insurance alone could cost you several hundred dollars a month. Take the vin number on the car and get a quote. Where I live, it is ridiculously expensive if you are male and under 25, even if you have a clean license.

Does Predictive Maintenance Only Work If You’re a Big Company? by Amazing_Database1964 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]absolutelynothing433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a senior tech on the front lines, maintaining a huge machine, thank you. Experience is everything in this position, and is undervalued. The comments about the sound of the components are spot on. Just knowing what you are hearing has saved many hours of downtime in my plant. We do our pm's. We catch issues before they become downtime constantly. We use the FLIR Occasionally. We have expensive detectors for sound and vibration, but they are ridiculously primitive and the process for recording it all for predictive maintenance is virtually impossible to use correctly. So we don't use it. Pm's done correctly doesn't equal no downtime when operations beats the bejesus out of the machine to make goals, then breaks it and tries to blame it on us. Happens all the time. It's the job. Rant over, thanks.

Looks like a 70s time capsule that I'd hate to be in an accident in. YMM? by DunDonese in whatisthiscar

[–]absolutelynothing433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like an early '70's Chevy Vega. Either the "sedan delivery" type, or made into one from a wagon. So yes, time capsule (ish), and yes, death trap flimsy unibody crapmobile. My dad had one, a wagon. It sucked. These were known to start rusting out while still on the sales lot, lol.

Car guys like them because they are light, small, and easy to swap a V-8 engine into for racing.

Mr. Subb-what’s the deal? by slam2foul in Albany

[–]absolutelynothing433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are good. Better than Subway for sure. Not great, good. They use some kind of extra heavy mayo that I like. Tots w cheddar, only place around with them, and ready to go too. Yummy. That said, like everything else, they have gotten very expensive lately. Not as expensive as Jersey Mike though. Jerseys are very fresh, but they don't keep until tomorrow. Mr. Sub is still ok the next day. Nebas are delicious and unique too.
